What. A. Year. I know I’m 6 days late 😂 but 2018 was too good not to take some time processing and celebrating. Something that Jesus did in me in 2018 is show me more of his character and nature. Specifically two powerful aspects that showed up BIG time this year: Jehovah El Roi - God who sees Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will provide As I was reflecting on this years challenges, successes, hard times, good times, and everything in between, I was taken back at just how much the Lord provided. I was surprised because even in my hardest times, receiving help and provision (from anyone) is not something I do graciously. I have this deep rooted fear of being seen as weak or inadequate, so you can imagine getting help, even if I need it, is a big challenge for me. When I didn’t even realize what was going on, the Lord was providing in ways that seemed little in the moment, but ultimately changed and shaped how I relate to him and others. So I’m learning about prayer and surrender. I’m learning that before the devil flees, I have to submit to God and fight the attack. I don’t know about you, but when I come under spiritual attack, I just hide until I think it’s over. Which, of course, doesn’t work. I’m learning to pray kingdom prayers. I’m learning to pray his will and accept what follows. It’s hard and I don’t always get it. I pray selfishly and he gently corrects me.
