Because, Kumoko?

There’s a storm on the horizon. Loki and Mobius haven’t noticed it yet, but Sylvie can feel it in the prickle of static at the nape of her neck, in the humid soak of the air, in that hint of ozone lingering at the back of her tongue.

She watches it for a while, her eyes fixed to that line cut between sky and sea. The storm will blow in from the east, she thinks. The squall formed over the water a few dozen miles off shore, and is just biding its time at this point. Already the waves in that direction are capped in white foam, churning relentlessly.

“Sylvie?”

She blinks, tearing her eyes away from the water.

They’re both looking at her. Loki still has a hint of smile on his lips, his cheeks flushed from all of the liquor that they’ve managed to pour into the hideous pink drink that he’s got clutched in one hand. The smile is melting though, leaving his face in small increments as his brow wrinkles, eyes filling with concern. He’s so expressive, this strange version of herself. She wonders how he’d ever managed to get away with tricking anyone when he’s got his entire heart sitting right there on his face, ripe for the taking.

To Loki’s left, Mobius is looking at her like he knows exactly what she’s thinking - like he can see right through to the very core of her. And who knows, perhaps he can. Perhaps studying variants of herself for who knows how many years has given him a precious glimpse into that thing that even she and Loki haven’t quite figured out yet - that age old question that all Lokis seem to want to know the answer to - what does make a Loki? What is their glorious purpose?

Sylvie hates it, hates him for having the ability to look at her like that, for knowing that someone - some stranger - can look at her and know her. Doesn’t Mobius know that no one is allowed to know her?

Mobius: a good one?

Fandoms should be a place where people can have fun, not be berated for something like a ship. I personally ship Mobius and Loki a little more then Loki and Sylvie in a romantic sense (I like Sylki as like platonic partners a little more than romantic partners), but I’m not gonna bash Sylki shippers.

Like I seriously don’t see what is so controversial about the ship? Like I’m not trying to sound rude or anything, but I really don’t see what the issue is? They aren’t siblings, so it’s not incest, they just happen to be the same person from different time lines. They have their own personalities, interest, backgrounds, etc. They are their own people, which is kinda important to them. They aren’t just variants of the same god/goddess, they are their own seperate people. I mean, one version of Loki is literally a crocodile (or an alligator, it’s hard for me to tell), like come on.

And who says the ship HAS to be romantic? Maybe some Sylki shippers ship them platonically. Maybe some people see them as siblings in a way, and just use Sylki as a way to identify them easier (that a little bit of a stretch, but you know what I mean). Love isn’t just romantic, it can be platonic, familial, aesthetic, etc. Maybe Loki and Sylvie don’t even WANT to put a label on their relationship. They are literally both deities of chaos who have had rocky relationships with their own emotions and self worth, do you really think they would be that hung up on a label? They have found someone who truly knows them, who they feel they can trust, so why overthink it so much?

Again, I’m not trying to sound rude or bash the people who don’t like Sylki. Y’all can like and dislike whatever you want, I can’t stop you and I won’t stop you. All I’m trying to say is be respectful to others, don’t get hung up on the little things, if you don’t like a post scroll away and don’t engage. Ignoring it is free and lowers the risk of the fandom growing toxic which I know no one wants.
