Through the Fire
My contribution to the Cullrian Appreciation Week (also on AO3)! I may or may not have another story in writing. :)
Sirens blasted through the fire station. Dorian looked up, his cup of chai tea halfway to his mouth. It took his colleagues scrambling to their feet for him to follow suit, running after them with a pounding heart. They had about 60 seconds to get changed into their uniform before stepping into the truck, and Dorian would not be left behind.
Dorian bumped into Cullen as he made his way inside, landing on the edge of his seat, and the taller man sat down beside him with a scowl.Â

This is so stupid, but so romantic He fell in love and left his home for a dog person who barely notice him. He cant speak, cant feel his legs, his father is furious, but itâs all nothing when it comes to love
Cullrian with #30, #61 and #69 ( ͥ° ÍĘ ÍĄÂ°) ( ͥ° ÍĘ ÍĄÂ°) ( ͥ° ÍĘ ÍĄÂ°)
Riding; Morning sex ; Sixty-nine (I could not find a realistic way to include it, but thereâs some frottage instead)
Waking up warm and cozy in the South was a pleasure Dorian had yet to get used to. The feel of a muscled arm around his waist was very pleasant, the hot body pressed against his back even more so. Cullenâs leg was between his, his thigh brushing just slightly against his genitals, but it appeared his cock only needed that to be at half mast. He could feel that Cullen was in the very same predicament, making him smile in his half-sleepy state.Â
He shifted his hips, sighing at the feel, and lazily palmed himself. He began a slow pace and rolled his hips so his balls would press against Cullenâs leg. He was happy to enjoy the moment and hump his lover.

Because I need to post something happy today even if itâs not entirely finished. I have another Iâm working on with these two, but Iâve been really slow lately. X_X
I saw you're asking for prompts! How about Cullen following Dorian to tevinter to become his bodyguard because being part of the Lucerni is dangerous business. Dorian is upset that Cullen did it, but at the same time he couldn't be happier.
My inbox is always open for prompts, though I canât always swear Iâll fill them. This one, thoughâŚthis one definitely ran away with me. Itâs not as silly as it was supposed to be, but I think it fits the prompt. And itâs still pretty damn fluffy.
Enjoy!
Interviewing prospective guardcaptains was supposed to be tedious. It was supposed to involve long hourstalking to people he would have to trust with his life but with whom he hadlittle in common, and then longer hours talking to his spies to find out if themost likely candidates had any unfortunate family ties, oreven-more-unfortunate debts. Family could be forgotten or scorned or ignoredâDorianwould knowâbut debts had a habit of coming due at inconvenient moments. Andwhen they came due, there was no telling who might end up paying.
Boring the interviews might be, butexcitement is exactly what Dorian was trying to avoid by hiring a guard captainin the first place. The Lucerni are all targets right now, and he and Maevarisare the largest. Mae has her own protections, but he hasnât been back inTevinter long enough to really establish himself. After two assassins made itclose enough that Dorian had to deal with them himself, he finally admittedthat a guard captain, with some accompanying guards, was perhaps a worthwhileinvestment. His life could do with a little less excitement.
Which means that the man currentlyfollowing Dorianâs assistant into the office is exactly what Dorian doesnâtneed, no matter what traitorous and decidedly un-magisterial flips his heartmight be doing.
His assistant stops, blinking atwhatever she sees on his face. âIs something wrong?â Her eyes flick tothe man now standing at parade rest in the exact center of the rug in front ofDorianâs desk.
Dorian gives himself a mental shakeand sets down his pen, aligning it precisely with the edge of the paper heâdbeen writing on. âNo, no, nothingâs wrong.â He sounds convincing, because he wants to be convinced. He wants this to be right, even though heknows it isnât.
But his assistant doesnât need toknow any of that. âThank you, Lucia, that will be all for now. Iâll letyou know when weâre through.â
She gives him a doubtful look butbows herself from his office, closing the door quietly as she goes. The silencein the room is so complete Dorian can hear the latch click, a silence thatcontinues unbroken for a long, painful moment. His visitor stands with his feetslightly apart and hands clasped behind his back, waiting with a trainedsoldierâs patience.
Dorian breaks first, as he alwayshas when itâs just the two of them, though he manages to keep his tone calm ashe folds his hands on top of his desk and asks, âWhat are you doinghere?â
Cullen blinks as if the question puzzleshim. âI thought it was obvious.â
Itâs so infuriatingly Fereldan,Dorian wants to laugh. Or throw something. âWhy are you here?â

âN-no, I wasnât⌠crying, I just h-had something in my eye is allâŚâ For whoever inspires you most :>
ok wow itâs a little sad how long it took me to write this but have 500 words of the fluffiest fluff to ever fluff! (and itâs cullrian btw because those two inspire all the things!)
Dorianâs in his office when Cullen returns from his meeting with the Templar Commander in Minrathous. For once he feels like heâs achieved something, and is hoping to start training the Templars within the week on how to use spells without resorting to heavy use of lyrium.
He throws open the door to the office, looking forward to seeing his husband again, and is taken aback to see Dorian hurriedly stand up and shove something inside his robes. He doesnât look at Cullen, instead turning towards the window.
âThat was quick!â Dorian says, and Cullen frowns. Dorian stands stiffly, crossing then uncrossing his arms, and Cullen can hear him taking slow, deep breaths.
âLove, whatâs wrong?â he asks, crossing the room quickly and standing behind Dorian. He slides his arms around his husbandâs waist and settles his chin on his shoulder. âAre â are you crying? What happened? What is it?â
âShut up, Iâm not crying,â Dorian snaps. âSomething in my eye, thatâs all.â
âDorianââ
âIâm fine.â Heâs stiff in Cullenâs arms, and as he pulls away, a wrinkled piece of paper falls from his robes. Cullen grabs it before it hits the floor and is about to hand it to Dorian without looking when he catches a glimpse of the signature.
âIs thisââ
âGive it back!â Dorian makes a grab for it, but Cullen takes a closer look.
âIt is! This is the letter I wrote you two years ago!â Itâs faded and the edges are torn, the entire thing looking like it will soon fall to pieces along the fold lines. Clearly, itâs been read and re-read a thousand times over, and Cullen swallows around the sudden drop of his stomach.
âAmatusââ Dorian starts, then stops. He finally turns to face Cullen, his cheeks and ears dark with a blush.
âYou received it? And youâve kept it all this time?â Cullen can still make out the words, the hopelessly flowerly declaration of love he had scribbled down after Dorian left Skyhold for the last time. Heâd been missing him terribly and had written the letter late one night, adding it to the pile of outgoing correspondence and waking up too late the next morning to hide it from the runner who picked up his letters every day.
Dorian has never mentioned it before, and Cullen has until now vaguely hoped his lover hadnât received it, hadnât read the painfully intense words spurred on by loneliness and fortified by brandy.
âDorian,â Cullen begins, but Dorian shushes him with a finger on his mouth.
âOf course I kept it,â Dorian says quietly, his eyes still shining. âAn unconditional declaration of love? How could I do anything else?â
Cullenâs heart swells until he feels like it must burst from his chest. Feeling somewhat overcome, he finds himself incapable of words, instead pulling Dorian in for another hug. This time Dorian doesnât resist; he buries his face in Cullenâs shoulder, whispering what Cullen has learned are endearments in Tevene.
âI should write to you more often,â he says, and Dorian hums agreement.
âNext time, write me a naughty letter,â Dorian replies. The words are muffled, but Cullen can feel the curve of his mouth as he smiles, and he laughs.
âDo you care about me?â - For Cullrian. *hugs*
So, first Dragon Age fic. Itâs not like Iâm scared to post this or anything. This one grew much longer than I wanted it to.
Word Count: 5162AO3
pulsum et tractum
Cullen rubbed his nose, feeling tiredness seep into his bones. There were unending piles of documents in front of him, and he was sure that even more documents were to be added before the light was out of the sky. The thought alone was enough to make Cullenâs head twinge with was sure to become a terrible headache in a couple of hours. It didnât help that his hands were trembling ever so slightly today; a sure sign that soon he would be grinding his teeth in frustration as the need grew harsher inside his head. Cullen had had his fill of bad days to know when one would be particularly challenging.
It didnât help that the Inquisitor and inner circle were gone for weeks now. The last raven gave grim accounts about the situation in the Exalted Plains, and Cullen was worried. He knew that Leliana was keeping a close eye on the proceedings, and Cullen trusted her people to keep things under control, but there were only so much they could do for the Inquisitor and the others. A huge part of the things that had to be done, had to be done by them alone, and thatâŚThat was a jarring thought.
Tired, Cullen tried again read the report in his hand, but failed once more, as the words blurred. Frustration welled up inside his chest, and he considered dropping things for a moment in favor of making rounds on the battlements, when a well-known horn sounded. Cullen dropped the report and turned to the narrow window behind him. There was a group of people crossing the bridge into Skyhold, all of them familiar, even from distance.
The Inquisitor was back with his party.
Cullen quickly counted their forms. All of them were present, and all of them were walking the bridge with their own two legs instead of carried. He was sure some or a bit worse than when they left, but nothing that rest and a bit of healing couldnât undo. Cullen let out a breath he didnât know he was holding. Relief washed through him, losing his tension and dissipating some of the constant feeling of dread he felt.
âPraised be the Maker,â Cullen whispered under his breath. Later, he would put his knee on the cold hard floor and make a proper prayer in gratitude for their safety. For now, that was all he could manage.
He probably should go down and welcome the Inquisitor, but, if Cullen was to be honest to himself, it wasnât the Inquisitor he wanted to go and greet. Still stuck by doubt, Cullen had his thoughts in interrupted by a messenger arrival.

Cullen + joy
Cullen shut the door and sagged into his seat before snatching the pendant back up.
âIâm so sorry, love. Â Theyâre gone now, we can talk.â
âAre you sure? Â I would hate to impose on something so terribly gripping as guard rotations with Rylen,â Dorian drawled.
âOh, hush. Â You said you had news.â
âItâs nothing nearly as important as your meeting, Iâm sure. Â A trifling thing. Â Only, Iâm in the stables.â
âGoing somewhere?â Cullen smiled, settling more comfortably into his seat.
âWell, I already have, you see. Â I should specify. Â Iâm in the Skyhold stables. Â You should come down.â
âWHAT?â Â Cullen shot out of his chair, banging his hip hard against the desk. Â He didnât notice.
âYou should come down,â Dorian repeated, laughter in his voice.
They met just outside the stables. Â Cullen half-ran the last few steps, catching Dorian up in a mighty hug.
âCareful, idiot, youâll strain yourself!â
âI donât care. Â What are you doing here!?â
âWell, I got a call to speak at the Collegium in Nevarra, and from there it was just a jaunt to check in on that untrustworthy toadâyou remember we talked?âin Jader, and from there I thoughtâare you going to smile like that the entire time? Â Iâm afraid youâll pull something.â
âIâm sorry, Iâm just so very happy to see you.â
Another sort of Cullrian for my personal happiness. (And maybe some of yours?) Long haired Dorian because I wannaâŚ. I was going to spend more time refining it. I can see a lot of little messy spots,  but I really have to get back to commissions right now. X_XÂ
