Tomorrow is another day
By Christina Yang
My mum was mad at me
She told me to pay a fee
I accidentally knocked over her cake
She said it took ages to make
Then my dad was really cross
He said, “You took him to the pet show. And you let our goldfish get pecked by a crow!”
I turned to my mum and dad who were still very very mad, and say, “It was not my fault, I did not throw moss into a dirty moat! Mum, I did not purposely knock the cake to the floor, and make it roll towards the front door!”
Now I was sad, yet mad at my mum and dad.
But then I remembered what Fred, the other day, had said: “Don’t worry about the last. That is all in the past.”
Then I remembered what happened on my 2016 birthday.
What my teacher had to say. And I can still remember it now, even though I’m 38, that tomorrow is always another day.
