“you hurt me,” he says, “you were all smiles and happy times until the moment you had my heart in your hands. then you took it and squashed it, stepped all over it. i was so scared. i felt so alone. no one could help me. i couldn’t escape, i was stuck here forever. even so, through my fear, i thought i could fix you. eventually, you’d stopped hurting me. eventually, you start to change. eventually, you would see that what you were doing was wrong, that you were hurting me.” his tears are pouring now, but his voice stays strong. “because you loved me, right? you loved me just as much as i loved you– and god, did i love you. you were everything i ever wanted, big, strong, tough, seemingly reliable. but it was a lie. a big, stupid, twisted lie. to trick me into loving you. to trick me into caring about you. get me to pity you, to feel guilty for being hurt by you.” he wipes his tears. “you– you have controlled me for nearly five years. but guess what? it stops now.
