It's not like she would have shot him anyways since she had
no ammo. The only thing she had to defend herself was a small
pocket knife, and a crowbar. But, she was glad that the sight of
her useless gun had kept him at bay. She didn't want to have to
deal with yet another person stealing from her.
Ammo was the one thing she desperately needed, but it
was hard to come by these days. You either had to scavenge,
or steal to find bullets, but she had been lucky, and had
raided a gun shop in downtown Atlanta before she had
escaped the city. Right now she needed ammo just to
defend herself against the group that was after her.
"Cannibals? That's alarming, it's sad how such ordinary people
can turn into complete savages once the word goes to shit, no
one would do such a thing before. It's like they're becoming
walkers themselves. I just hope I never come across those
cannibals you mentioned."
Just the idea of people devouring other people made her want to
curse at the world. She didn't understand how someone could do
such a thing, to betray their own species. It seemed like people
were against each other now, instead of grouping together to fight
the real threat. That's why she preferred being alone, she could
stick to her own beliefs.
"It's fine, don't worry about it, we all worry too much now.
I only have canned goods, and a few bottles of water. Hell,
I can give you some for the road if you need it, you don't
seem like a bad guy, you were just doing what you needed
to do."
She reaches into her bag, and tosses him a can of peaches,
it's all she was able to find at nearby grocery store.
