you deserve people who listen to you ramble. you deserve people who love it when you’re excited, when you’re happy. you deserve people who check up on you and wish to see you well. you deserve the kindness you give to everybody else.

shout out to anyone who’s struggling with their mental health and doesn’t think they can live like this for much longer; if you’re reading this, please stay alive, you’re still here and you’re so strong and i’m proud of you.

i just want to say you deserve good things. you deserve to feel worthy of existing. and i hope that you’ll believe that one day if it’s hard to believe now. and i’m so sorry that you had to go through life having people who made you feel like you’re not worth anything when you’re never a burden. i may not know your story, your pain, what’s on your mind and what you bring to the table, but you never did have to bring anything. you just had to bring yourself and that’s enough. you’re enough.

You’ll think you found someone great because he texts you that he misses you when he’s alone in bed at night until you meet someone who texts you that he misses you in the middle of the day when he’s surrounded by people. Then you’ll realize that sometimes you don’t know what’s actually great until you find better.

I remind myself every day to be kinder to myself.

There’s a difference between being perfectly fine with someone and being the absolute happiest you can be. And that difference lies somewhere among how they talk to you when you’re with other people and how they kiss you when you’re alone.

Let me just tell you- if you have to wonder whether or not he’s going to text you back, he’s not the one for you. If he doesn’t want to have a conversation with you when he knows you can’t meet up with him, he’s also not the one. If he can’t hang out with you because he has friends in town, he’s not the one. Because the one will want to introduce you to his friends. The one will text you during the first 2 minutes of down time he has during a crazy day at work. The one will text you goodnight even if he knows you’re already asleep. And the one- the real one for you- won’t ever leave you wondering if he actually cares.

Don’t live for the weekends. Don’t write off things you’re unsure of. Don’t mistake comfort for love. Don’t mistake attention for love. And most importantly, don’t believe anyone who says they don’t have time to see you, because there’s no such thing as being too busy for something you care about.
