This is something my best friend wrote inspired by me and it makes me so insanely happy and awe struck that someone could write something this beautiful about my mind. I am so lucky to have found someone that can see me so clearly.
“Your mind is like a portal into a whole different world. I imagine it filled with dark, quiet corners where you get your best work done and big open windows overlooking a shiny green field where you grow your well fertilized ideas. I bet it has rusty bookcases with books stacked so far up they disappear into the sky, filled with pages of unanswered questions and things you wish you had said. There's this one room that is made fully of glass where your forgotten thoughts flutter around, waiting to be remembered. The room with black paint and soundproof walls is your hiding place. This is where you go when you need to escape, it's silent and is filled with nothing. I believe you have this big bowl of liquid colors, where your fears and insecurities sit. They're usually stagnant, but, when given the opportunity, they can boil and swirl and cause all kinds of trouble, some days more than others. Unlike the sometimes stagnant bowl, the room of creativity is constantly in motion with its bouncy walls and floors where your inspirations jump around all day, eager to be captured and transformed into one of your amazing creations. Your dreams and ambitions are held in colorful little bubbles. They float around, constantly changing size and shape, making them hard to grab and easy to pop. The last room is cold and quiet. Everything is covered in ice and you can clearly see your breath. This is the place where you try to freeze the moments in time that you want to keep forever. It is a room of sentimental, bittersweet, nostalgic memories. I imagine pipes leading from every room into a container of sleep. Sometimes things escape from the rooms and drain into your sleep container, but they're usually gone by morning. The world of your mind can sometimes become wrecked by a seemingly never ending tornado, or a dense, lingering fog. Even then it is a beautiful place that everyone deserves a peak into, but only a few are lucky enough to actually do so.”
