Paranormal Facts About The Crawfordsville Monster

The Crawfordsville monster may sound like a practical joke but nevertheless it’s kind of a creepy tale. Vincent Gaddis, who wrote in the article, “Indiana’s Sky Monster,” for Doubt Magazine had interviewed the older townspeople back in the 40s to hear if they really saw this creature and they said yes.

Anyway this monster is like a mix between the Mothman and an alien like creature. It’s something that the X-Files would have investigated. So here are some facts about this creature.

Mokele- Mbembe

Also known as the “the one who stops rivers” this creature lives in the Congo River. Its reported to look similar to a Brontosaurus and spends most of its time in the water. 

The earliest reference to Mokele-Mbembe, though the source does not refer to it as that, is from 1776. A french missionary,  Bonaventure Proyart, saw large footprints in the area. HE never saw the creature but said  “must have been monstrous: the marks of the claws were noted on the ground, and these formed a print about three feet in circumference.”

What could this creature be? A popular thought, and most entertaining,is that its a Brontosaurus that somehow survived extinction. Another thought is that is the creature could actually be an iguana or monitor lizard.

Brosnya, or the Brosno Dragon, is the name given to a lake monster which is said to inhabit Lake Brosno, near Andreapol in West Russia. It is described as resembling a dragon or dinosaur.

Rumors of a strange, giant creature living in Lake Brosno have existed for several centuries. One legend says that the lake monster scared to death the Tatar-Mongol army that headed for Novgorod in the 13th century. Batu Khan stopped the troops on the sides of Lake Brosno to rest. Horses were allowed to drink water from the lake. However, when the horses ventured down to the lake, a huge roaring creature emerged from the water and started devouring horses and soldiers. The Batu-khan troops were so terrified that they turned back, and Novgorod was saved. Old legends describe an “enormous mouth” devouring fishermen. Chronicles mention a “sand mountain” that appeared on the lake surface from time to time. According to another legend, some Varangians wanted to hide stolen treasure in the lake. When they approached the small island, a dragon came to the surface from the lake and swallowed the island up. It was rumored in the 18th and 19th centuries that the giant creature emerged on the lake surface in the evening, but immediately submerged when people approached. It is said that during World War II the beast swallowed up a German airplane. Today, there are lots of witnesses who say they chanced to see Brosnya walking in the water. Locals say that it turns boats upside-down and has to do with disappearance of people.

LUSCA

Lusca is a fascinating cryptid. It it said to dwell in the blue holes of the Bahamas. Still and tranquil pools of blue but home to the most sinister of cryptids, Lusca. Some say Lusca is part shark-part octoptus. 

Some eye-witnesses say Lusca is around 200ft in length. Although there have been few survivors. 

The Island of Andros in the Bahamas is home to many of these blue holes and curious people have tested out a theory that they all connect to each other deep under the sea by using dyes. This means that Lusca may not be in one hole at one time, it can travel.
