couple things: i think furiosa genuinely worries that nobody is ever going to know her as well as dementus does. because he gets to her in that final confrontation. his words are hitting home, it's why she's crying. but then angharad and the other girls start to thaw her heart. and then she meets max, who knows her from the moment they set eyes on each other. and she knows dementus is wrong. he could've been right, but she triumphs over him. over joe. what's broken is healed by love alone.

and also, it's soooooo important to me that furiosa gets the last word in her story. the twist that this is being told by a history man is great. but ultimately, her words are the last we hear. "some uncorrupted life will rise to adorn it". and the last shot is of the wives, beginning their own steps to liberation.
