This weeks last activity was really exhausting. We make sure that our product will be launched on the day of the final pitching and we really have struggled on making it. We really thank those people who helped us overcome those struggles specifically the Sister on the XU hospital and sir Inting who let us use their hammer mill.

We polished our pitch deck in preparation to the upcoming pitching. The guidance of our instructor really helped us finished our PPT presentation. After finishing the pitch deck presentation we practiced our script on how we are about deliver our pitch. We make it like a drama so that it will catch the eye of investors(panels). For this week we really hope that our will be delivered properly.

As of this weeks progress we really work hard on making the crushing of the glass. It really took our time to have the exact size that we will be using on the proportioning mixture of our product. If only if we have a crusher maybe this wont take longer for it to be crushed.

After crushing the glass we manage to accumulate some amount for our first sample. The first attempt failed but as we wait for every 30 min. of duration for every block we still fail until 1 product succeed, but as we pull the moulder some particles remained.

As for this week have gathered info about the material that we are about use specifically the glass cullet(crushed glass). We asked some junk shops on how much and how many they can gather for every day so that we have info about the resouces. Thank God, we haven't money buying a glass because my team saw some waste glass like a jealousy and some bottles on the campus. After seeing that much resources we didn't hesitate to ask the staffs who watch those wasted materials to have a little amount of those glasses.

So after having those free material we decided to make some overnight for the glass to be crushed. Since we havent found a glass crusher we decided to pulverized it manually. These kind of work is quiet dangerous so we carefully crushed in a close cloth or a sack for us to be safe from the particles.

This week we do some activities that will improve our pitch deck presentation specifically the the topic that Mr Mabulay dicussed is about on how to formulate BMC(Business Model Canvas). He teaches as on the scalability of a certain business and etc. Then he taught us of the key activities, key resources, value proposition and etc.

Before the class ended and the activity we took photo of our formulated BMC and posted it to the slack. The posting of our formulated BMC will serve as our attendance. Then after finishing everything we add the formulated BMC to our pitch deck ppt.

During this week our team was gatbered to conduct a further interviews to the contractors to a firms and others like the possible costumers for our product. Since our school has an ongoing construction project we directly went to those contractors and engineers to conduct an interview.

Ofcourse before we conduct interview, first is we formulate some questions. Like Mr. Mabulay said we should formulate a question for the interview. He said also that the question that we must seek can be easy to answer or rather straight to the point. He also instructed and gave us some pointers on how to approach an interviewee.

This week Maam Dalde checked every team for the progress of everyone if they really are doing something for thier product. And so there every group shared there thoughts of whats the progress and whats new on our respective products. She asked us to reflect to the feedback of the panelist for the improvement of every pitch.

Maam said that the students pitching their is just like reporting not in a way of convincing a client or pitching. So by reflecting to the feedback we should make sure that on the day of launching and the final pitching we should improve and make it our best. Maam also said that if a team makes it the top 8 one of the best the team will surely have a flat 1 grades.

The day of our pitching was a bet scary. It is the day to pitch on what is the progress of our product. It is the way of convincing a client or an investor. I'm really nervous out there because one of the panel was Engr. Liwanag. She is one of the great engr. of the USTP. Since my team was compose of different section we havent done the pitching. So we asked our instructor that we will move our presentaion on wednesday.

We must be completed on the day of pitching because we will be graded as a team for our midterm exam. Since the presentation of our team was moved on wednesday we edited our power point for some details.

On the day of our pitching we are expecting that almost all of the section have already presented there works. But it seems most of the team are mixed. So on our presentation our leader Ms. Andam did the pitching and as for us we answered some questions and I think we did great with it.

The new idea that we presented was not accepted because of many factors that may occur. The idea was to build a house with an automatic sensor/manual device installed that will elevate an entire 1 storey building during floods or calamities. The big problem here is the power source and price. Can they really afford it?

During the presentation since we dont have other option we go back to our old idea which is the CHB replacing the sand aggregates with the glass cullet. We stick to it and we started working on it. Even though there are some negative about the research we still proceed.

We then discuss the product that we are going to work on which is the CHB. We also discuss about the proportioning mixture on how it will be formulated. The problem is we only interviewed some engineers not on the suppliers of construction materials.

Giving up is not an option. Get back up and move forward. So that what we exactly did. We have new proposal and we checked every detail of it. We will make sure that this proposal will help the environment. 

 Since the topic is new we are still doing research to it. We are still asking and interviewing people if this proposal might work in the near future. Some says that it might work. Some also has negative feedback. But we decided to proceed. We believe that this might work. 

 We discuss the model of the proposal and everyone agreed. We are still researching for some models for the alternatives. So the only thing left is to present. And I hope this will be accepted. 

The finalizing of the proposal was a bit hard to decide. It is one of the crucial part of this subject. The presentation was already made but we are still undecided of the topic. The reason might be the problem. To whom we are making or proposing these research. Who will benefit it? 

 To make the decision firm we decided to ask our instructor that what is special about the topic. Who will benefit these? Is this a research that can solve a problem? And our instructor says that it is just a research about the materials strength capacity. He says it might solve a problem but not a problem that has much impact to the environment. The problem that he is emphasizing is just the replacement of a fine sand aggregates to a fine glass.

 After learning those facts about our topic is we decided to move on to another proposal that answers a problem. It has to be a topic that has an impact to the community. It has to solve a problem. It has to benefit people.

Progress is essential in making a proposal, where time is a key factor contributing to it. Without progress, a research cannot move forward to its goal. The second week of our progress consist of five days of brainstorming. Our group planned all the things we should do further to contribute progress in our proposal. It takes ample time to come up with a good proposal.

 After we gather all the ideas that we've shared to each other we then choose the best topic that we are going to propose. We started asking our civil engineering instructors about the topic and we got their feedback. Some of our instructor says its a good topic and some are not agreeing to our topic. Because they say that we might encounter some problem. But we decided to continue even though there is negative feedback about it. 

 The topic that we choose is the concrete hollow block replacing its fine aggregate in to a fine glass aggregate. So we discuss the model and the team agreed with it. We do deep research about the topic and then we discovered some issues regarding the strength and so on. But we found something interesting and that is the positive result of some research that is related to the fine glass aggregate. 

Last week we discussed about the introduction of the course technopreneurship. It has been said there that the technology entrepreneurship has a big impact and contribution to the society. Our instructor elaborated further about how it is important now that it is vastly growing all over the world.

The Idea of startup has been explained there during the seminar. we are then tasked to do a work as team compose of a hacker, hustler, and hipster. At first we argue on forming of the team because we are a big group so we decided to divide the group into two girls and two boys. After the forming of the team we do brainstorm and shared our ideas until we decided to choose the best idea among the others.
