âYou know, I donât usually do this,â she said as she sipped her wine glasses. âOne of my friends suggested that I get out more and set me up on this, you see. So if we have like, no connection at all, I donât blame you.â Selina finished her sentence and sipped from the glass in her hand as she stared at the person sitting in front of her. âSo, uh, whatâs something that I wouldnât guess about you?â

âOh wow, thatâs pretty cool.â Waverly said, smiling at the other woman. âI do a lot of school work from home, but thatâs not quite the same thing.â She said with a soft laugh, shaking her head in amusement.Â
âWell, no. Not exactly,â she said giving the girl a small smile. Sheâd laugh but Selina wasnât the one to let her guard down so easily. âSometimes, Iâd travel which is probably the best part of it all. My work sends me to tons of beautiful countries.â
It seemed like they had finally slowed down which was fine considering it was close to closing time, so naturally Killian didnât mind it at all. He collected some of the empty glasses on the bar top, before grabbing the towel to wipe the bar top down. Heading over to the newest customer. âWhat can I get for you, mate? Itâs almost closinâ time.â
It was nearing five in the morning and Selina was nowhere near tired. She was running on a high tonight. Being out in the cat suit gave the woman so much energy that she thought the best way to end her night was over a couple of shots. Selina made her way down the dark alley slipping into her civilian clothes before making her way into the bar. She noticed how empty the place had gotten and wondered if it was still open. Smiling at the bartender, she made her way over and said, âA shot of your finest rum and... keep them coming.â
She shook her head slightly and let out a soft chuckle âTalking to customers is actually one of the only things that makes the night go byâŚespecially the slow ones.â Waverly replied, biting down on her bottom lip. âWhy donât you get out much? Do you have a busy job?â She questioned, furrowing her eyebrows slightly.
Selina scuffed at the younger girlâs question and thought about it. She hasnât âworkedâ a day in her life but the young woman is sitting on millions. She had to have a cover story. She couldnât exactly tell people she was a professional thief. Selina shrugged, âI work from home. I own a couple of business around the country so itâs rare that I leave my condo.â

Barry wasnât really the type to argue with someone and so he simply let it go when the woman argued that he should do something about, when it could have just as easily have been her fault. After all, they had both been turning the corner. It really wasnât that big of a deal though, so he wasnât going to retaliate in any way. âYeah, sure thing.â He mused with a shrug when the woman told him to start paying attention. âHope your day gets better from here on out.â
Selina looked at the guy and frowned. His politeness irritated her to the point where she wanted to pull her claws out. Itâs rare that you run into a nice person in New York so she was almost positive it was a facade. Selina took in a deep sigh before she said, âYou know what would make my day better? Just... never mind. Forget it.â She turned on her heels and started to walk away, âHave a good rest of your day.â
âYouâre quite welcome, itâs really not a big deal. Though Iâm happy we can keep you coming back. This city has quite a lot of competition when it comes to bars.â Waverly mused, the smile still firmly planted on her face. The bar she worked at had quite the number of regulars and did pretty well in getting new customers as well, but reviews like the one from the woman in front of her certainly helped ensure that they knew they were doing something right.Â
Selina offered the younger woman a shrug in a reply and she sipped her drink. It was perfect. Just how I like it, she thought then looked back up to the woman. âI donât get out much,â she spoke up but then shook her head. âI should stop there. You probably hate it when your customers go off on rants about their lives.â
âI mean, thanks, but havenât you heard of the twin stranger thing?â He replied, playing up his confusion. She had too many connections back to Gotham. Connections he needed to avoid. So playing dumb in front of one of the smartest women from Gotham he knew was a long shot in terms of tricking her, but the dead Robin couldnât just admit his status without heavy reassurance that he wouldnât be outted to the highest bidder. âI honestly donât know what the hell youâre talking about lady. Iâm just here to do college then get the hell out of dodge.â
âYouâre not fooling anybody.â Selina laughed to herself as she shook her head leaning a little closer towards him. âAre you around Iâm going to rat you out or something?â she asked with a smirk settling on her face. âFrankly, Jason, I couldnât care less. Your dealings in Gotham are yours. I have enough of them on my own. Itâs just nice to see a familiar face around here.â
Barry was properly chastised and he cleared his throat as he crossed his arms over his chest, offeringthe woman a nod. âYouâre not wrong about that. This bumping into people has become a bit of a occurrence lately.â He murmured, thinking about the woman that he was bumping into on the daily. âI really am sorry though. Didnât think I was this much of a klutz.â He played up, offering the woman a sheepish smile.Â
Selina rolled her eyes at the guy and crossed her arms when he spoke. She wasnât really in the mood to pick a fight with him but the young woman was feisty. âMaybe instead of apologizing you could do something about it,â she said shifting her feet. She looked at him apologetically and bit back her lip, âSorry. Iâm in a mood. Look, just... start paying attention.â
Waverly glanced at the glass and nodded her head, taking the empty glass and putting it in the dishwasher before washing her hands and making her up a new drink. She placed the receipt for the drink into the cup with the receipt for her other drink and her card before returning to give her the drink. âThere you are. I hope you enjoy.â Waverly said with a bright smile, the one that never failed to get people to return to her for service.
Selina turned back to the crowd and watched the scene unfold in front of her. Most of the people there were just standing around talking but there were quite a few who danced which surprised the older girl. Her attention was caught when the bartender returned with her drink. Selina eyed her carefully and frowned at the bright smile on her face. That smile was one of youthfulness; one where the world hasnât hit them in the face yet. Still, she smiled back softly and nodded, âThank you. You guys are the only place that makes my drink the way I like it.â

Jason tensed, mind racing as the familiar voice called his name. Of all the people from Gotham he thought heâd run into, he never expected to run into Selina Kyle of all people in a dingy little cafe. Selina Kyle, who now knew he wasnât as dead as he led others to believe. Not good. A split second to formulate a half assed plan was all he got upon her approach. Forcing himself to relax, he shot her a mildly puzzled look as he replied, âUh, no. Sorry, I think you got the wrong guy.â
Selina crossed her arms and rolled her eyes at the younger man. âI never forget a face,â she said simply. âEspecially not one as cute as yours.â She gave Jason a quick look over before she spoke up again, âYou donât look like a dead guy to me. Howâd you end up in the big city?â
College was hell, and the teachers were the demons- at least, thatâs what Jason had surmised as he struggled through one of his assignments. Sitting inside a small cafe with too many mugs to count splayed out in front of him, the former Robin was quite tempted to start ripping up his work in frustration. Another minute of contemplating mass bookicide left Jason huffing as he snapped the book closed. Leaning back, he pinched the bridge of his nose, and watched from his peripherals as it seemed like a newcomer was moving to take the open seat across from him. âOh great, just what I need, company.âÂ
Night fell into the city and thatâs when Selina was in her element. She had a business meeting in about an hour but the young woman always arrived an hour early to scope out the place. She walked into the unfamiliar cafe not expecting to see any familiar faces but there he was. The older woman walked up to him and smirked, âWell, well, well... Jason Todd. Fancy seeing you here.â
Barry was walking briskly down the street, his head down as he focused on the message from Joe, a chuckle being pulled from his lips. He had just left their weekly family dinner and yet the man had still come up with something new to talk to him about. Turning a corner, completely distracted, he bumped into someone (so cliche), only just managing to reach out and steady the other person without showing off too much of his ability. âIâm sorry. You alright?â
It was a surprisingly nice day in the city so Selina, the homebody, decided to venture out during the day for once. Most of Selinaâs business is handled at night but on the rare occasion that sheâs out at this time of day, sheâs on her way to her favorite coffee shop. Selina was deep into an email on her phone when someone bumped into her (or she bumped into them but that doesnât matter). She was steadied on her feet by the younger guy then eyed him curiously before smiling softly, âIâm fine... but you should really watch where youâre going.â

Waverly walked into the bar, head held high as she glanced around at the crowd. The bar was full, something she had gotten used to despite it being the middle of the work week. When people needed to get drunk, they needed to get drunk. She pulled off her hat to let her honey brown hair fall along her shoulders and slipped into the employeeâs room to hang up her jacket and hat. She quickly freshened up a bit before clocking in and heading out to the bar. She knocked her hip against her coworkerâs with a cheeky smile before heading over to the customer she pointed out. âHey, there. What can I get for ya?â
Selina leaned against the bar people watching as she stirred what little was left in her glass. The young woman wasnât a huge drinker but when she decided she wanted to have a little fun, sheâd frequent this same bar; the only bar that mixes her drink just right. When Selina reached the bottom of her class, she turned towards the bar and smiled as a bartender approached. She grinned and looked at the girl as she pointed to her glass, âIâll have another one of these.â

TW: Death, Alcohol Abuse, Suicide & Violence
Biography
Selina grew up a quiet, reserved child. She was always too nervous to speak up due to her fatherâs temper. He was an alcoholic; youâd always find him sitting on his chair drinking his day away. Every now and again heâd leave the house for work but every time he returned home angry and violent. Most of the time, heâd take it out on the little girlâs mother however, it wasnât that rare of an occasion when heâd take out his anger on the girl or her little sister, Maggie.
On the eve of Selinaâs ninth birthday, she came home from school excitedly to show her parents her gifts that she received from friends at school to find her brutalized mother Maria lying lifeless in her bedroom. There were pills sprawled out on the nightstand next to a bottle of vodka. That same bottle was the one her violent father Brian drank himself to death with soon after. Selina was separated from Maggie when remanded to the Sprang Hall Juvenile Detention Center, an abusive state home for orphaned or delinquent girls.
Little Selina lived in the state home for two years until she eventually escaped the Center. Unsure of how an eleven year old was supposed to thrive on her own, she tried pickpocketing a crowd at a carnival outside Gotham City but failed. She was caught by the man who ran the place and he offered her to join the carnival. Selina agreed just grateful to have somewhere to call home; someplace that wouldnât hurt her. Soon, she learned the art of contortionism, gymnastics, magic and trickery. Using her new learned skills, Selina also improved her pickpocketing skills robbing the crowds in every city they traveled to. When the owner of the carnival died in a tragic accident seven years later, Selina decided to take her chances on the streets of Gotham City, surviving as a petty thief.
Newly eighteen year old Selina was on her own now. She skipped town and left for New York. She spent the first week in and out of womenâs shelters before meeting the man that changed it all, a pimp named Stan. He offered the young girl a safe haven among girls her own age and being homeless, Selina hopped on the opportunity. She lived carefree for the first few weeks; a big house with a fully stocked kitchen, whatever she wanted at her fingertips and people that she could relate to. Selina felt like a princess; that is until Stan started demanding things of her. He wanted her to work like the other girls but Selina declined. She offered up her skills in thievery instead.
Over the next few years, Selina pulled off hundreds of heists, small and large. She was living lavishly alongside Stan. She was doing so well that she thought she could do it on her own and wanted out. Stan didnât like the sound of that and after a heated argument, Selina was sent to the hospital following a beating. It was there that the doctors reached out to the police. Selina didnât want to talk to them but when she was told that theyâd had their eye on her and Stan for the past several years, she quickly changed her mind. She sold Stan out to guarantee her freedom. Selina was terrified that Stan would find out about what sheâd done and the detective took pity on her. He sent her to a man named Ted Grant who taught her how to fight in case she ever needed to defend herself in the future.
Selina was back on the streets in no time and was right back on her shenanigans. She had enough in stolen funds to rent a luxury apartment with a clear view of the Empire State Building. Sure, Selina had fallen in deep with some bad guys but she had made a name for herself; quietly and was loving every moment of it. She had gotten comfy; Stan was still out there. He was released from prison and coming after her. This time, Selina knew how to defend herself. She returned the beating Stan gave her almost killing him in the process. She warned him to leave her alone and walked away from the encounter without a scratch.
Selina soon became fed up with the glamorous lifestyle she had been leading since becoming wealthy through her exploits and felt she had strayed from her original path of looking out for others. So she returned to her hometown of Gotham City. Initially, she was there in search for her sister but soon noticed an increase in the number of children stealing on the streets, and followed one of the children to their hideout - the same place Selina had operated from during her own childhood as a thief. Using millions of dollars worth of stolen funds, Selina anonymously funded the building of a community center in her old neighborhood hoping it'll give the children something else to do other than steal. However, that still didnât feel like enough. It was only a few days after that she saw Batman in action for the first time. He inspired her to put together her own costume and become a creature of the night: the Catwoman.
Selina resides in New York City but she loves to travel. Half of the time, you'd find her in some random country across the world. She frequents Gotham City a lot but now that she's a multi-millionaire, she doesn't do many big heists anymore. However, sometimes, when the Cat takes over, she can't help but to swipe a few jewels here and there.
