Suicide
‘I am sorry. We couldn’t do anything to save her. It was too late.’ The doctor frowned, solemnly looking at the strangers whose world had fell apart at his words.
Her mother let out a loud sob, falling apart. The women who was always pristine always put together, always so strong couldn’t keep the mask intact.
Her dad, who was trying to be the supportive one was torn apart.
His little daughter had taken her own life.
He instantly blamed himself for shouting at her in the morning before he left.
How could he not see his daughter struggling? How could he not see her hurting? How could he be so ignorant?
How could they be so ignorant?
With so many thoughts running inside his mind, he tentatively pushed open the hospital door to see his daughter. He was hoping that it was a cruel joke his daughter was playing. That the moment he will open the door she will shout ‘surprise’ and laugh at his teary face.
He was so saddened to be greeted with silence. More guilty tears rushed down his cheeks as he stepped inside. He walked up to her bed and kneeled down. He stared at her face and noticed that she was smiling. Her face looked so serene, peaceful even.
“H-how is she smiling?” He questioned to himself.
“She found peace in her death. The demons inside her mind have finally silenced. The chaos inside her have stooped. She’s finally found peace, the one thing she longed for.” someone whispered.
