Spencer is ALWAYS thinking in terms of Olivia and what’s best for Olivia but he’s doing that thinking on his own. 

A: The right reaction, when you feel this, is to increase in your dua and keep going, for the Prophet ﷺ said, "You will get the answer so long as you don't rush." The Companions asked, "What is rushing?" He ﷺ said, "It is that one says, I prayed and prayed but didn't get an answer."

It is said: any time you are inspired to make a dua, know that Allah has prepared for you an answer, so increase in your dua and ask whatever comes to your mind, for Allah's warehouses are filled.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you ask, make it your ask great, for nothing is difficult for Allah."

Dua uttered from your lips is a guidance from Allah that Allah wants to fulfill it.

Your dua can answer immediately, if the time is right.

Allah can delay your dua because Allah wants to prepare you & your condition. You only knows one part of story while Allah knows the whole.

Allah will not accept your dua and his nor acceptance will give you something better than what you have asked for.

Whenever making dua, make it from whole heart and then leave it to Allah.

You will become addicted to asking for forgiveness after reading this ان شاء الله!

A man once came to al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).”

Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.” (i.e. say أستغفر)

Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”

(i.e. say أستغفر)

The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?”

Al-Hasan al-Basri said,

"This is not my personal opinion,

“Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12]

There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah.

The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains. As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (صلي ألله عليه و سلم).“Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33]

As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33] أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, “If anyone continually asks forgiveness, Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress, relief from anxiety, and will provide for him from where he never realized.” [Abu Dawood, Hadith 599]

THE POWER OF ISTIGHFAR ‘ASTAGHFIRULLAH’

“When a servant is persistent and firmly determined in his du’a,

he will be responded to.

And when he discontinues (his du’a) and gets tired,

he will be deprived of its response (and its rewards in hereafter by way of its delay thereof).”

“Strive in making Du'ā, for whoever increases in knocking at the door, then it will soon open up.”
