!!!GOOD OMENS S3 SPOILERS!!!
I think my ultimate problem with the ending was that it seemed very lazy to me. Trying to wrap up a very complicated story in more or less the same amount of time it took to set up the original plot is just poor planning and I feel it came very short of expectations. I felt like I was being pulled in a dozen different directions through the entire episode, and I still feel fuzzy on some of the smaller details because so many of them were just brushed off. Beyond the technical aspects, I donât think the ending brought Crowley and Aziraphaleâs story to the conclusion it deserved. Thousands of years, a multitude of memories, and endless shared experiences being erased before they could be happy together. Crowley spent at least the majority of 6000 years in love with Aziraphale and vise versa, all of that pain and all of that love simply lost to the void. Yes, they had their motivation to save humanity as reason to make that sacrifice but that feels lukewarm at best considering all there was to lose. I think with more time, the ending could have ended up working really well (because there is something really beautiful about no universe with them in it being able to exist without them falling for each other) but it just fell short.
