Here's some lore about the characters!
TEMMIE is a small cat-dog animal who lives in a computer they control from inside the machine. They prefer it to walking around and is quite lazy. They also do this for self-defense. They are the first monster you encounter.
FLOWEY is a calm and lethargic monster on the surface but deep down is quick to anger. He serves as the surprise twist villain at the end similar to base Undertale.
CHARA is the protagonist in their journey as they crash landed on the asteroid. Their goal is to find monsters and free the civilization. Sometimes they'll lose track of the goal at hand and wander off, much to Frisk's dismay.
FRISK on the opposite role, is the mischievous narrator who often gives Chara a much darker thought in contrast to their usual wonderous thoughts. They have rocket shoes that makes the final boss in the Genocide Route really fun where you can fly around.
KING ASGORE is the caretaker of the Ruinous Village, the place him and Temmie reside. He cares for Temmie like his pet and caters to any humans who somehow stumbles upon the asteroid. (Apparently there's been a lot.) He's a baker and a kind hearted soul.
EX-QUEEN TORIEL is the ex-monarch who once had free rule of the lands. She resides in her Throne Room and doesn't do much ruling anymore after Asgore got furious with her tyrant-ing over the monsters.
PAPYRUS, the great and wonderful skeleton who lives in Starry Station, a cold land frozen over. He is supposed to be on the watch for humans but can't help but make friends along the way! He loves visiting Muffet's Cadbury (The local food business) He keeps an eye on his older brother.
SANS the skeleton is the older and mischievous brother of Papyrus. He is a misguided delinquent who lives under Ex-Queen Toriel's ideologies. His only wish is to be her servant and will do any of her rules. He frequently makes Spanish foods and various other spicy food.
ALPHYS is the librarian at the local SPICE-BRARBY where she takes inventory on the books that are brought in and out. Other than that she is the tasked force behind King Asgore's defenses called The Royal Guard.
UNDYNE is a big nerd for all things fantasy. She actually meets Alphys at the Spice-brarby where the two hit it off well. The two being quite the bookworms lead them to developing a deep bond. Eventually, with her smarts Undyne becomes the Royal Scientist, using the works of the late R.P .
METTABIT is a fashionista that resides in the Ruinous Village. They talk to Asgore when he comes around and has a fondness for him. Mettabit likes to watch the show that their cousin stars in!
NAPSTABLOT is the world famous sensation all around the asteroid! He has a famous documentary series about him that's basically the equivalent of Groundhog Day where he comes out on the news to tell if their asteroid will hurdle toward the sun every year. It so happens that Chara stumbles upon the asteroid on the very day of his show!
NAPSTABLOT TEAR-DROP is the evolved superstar's normal form. All he does is every year on a specific day he grabs his microphone and walks up to the podium and announces his prediction. He yearns for more than this boring cycle and has grown rather sad about it.
GRILLBY is the lesser known baker but he has his own startup business he's been working on. Sans visits him on and off for a nice quick food break. He dubs it "fast food".
MUFFET is the mastermind behind the Muffet's Cadbury restaurant in Starry Station. She sells pastries and frozen treats and all sorts of sweets! Papyrus frequently comes here so often he has a "regular" he usually gets! (It's just a bottle of honey syrup)
