when sebastian makes the contract with ciel, the translator chose "i will claim your soul," but in the original japanese, sebastian says いただきます (itadakimasu). it's literally translated to "i humbly receive," but is commonly used before eating to express gratitude for the meal. often translated to "enjoy your meal."

what’s interesting is that both demons use expressions filled with gratitude and respect toward the meal, while at the same time it is a form of mocking humans for them.

She's clearly been working hard on the manga. The quality of her art is better than ever, and the current arc is deftly bringing to light things that have long been hinted at (even in the non-canon anime, ex. go rewatch s2 e4 and see all the Brighton hints). She is being very deliberate and thoughtful with her storytelling. The manga is clearly building up to a climax and setting the stage for questions to be answered. It's been so fun to read and analyze the story as it continues...

it’s funny because even people on the non-anti side (who i used to think generally had more faith in yana and don’t call her a stupid shotacon like antis do) seem to think she stopped caring about kuro when it’s clear she cares more than ever because this ending is being dragged out imo. she’s going to be working on this for a long ass time because as op said, she’s busy as hell!!

afaik yana’s author notes at the end of vol 34 (the last english translated official volume release) are a sign she’s bettering herself and not at all sick of kuro
