have you ever put your head together with someone in an attempt to solve a problem that they say they want solved, and are clearly extremely stressed about, but partway through the conversation it becomes clear that they're inventing increasingly insane and ridiculous ways to shoot down your solutions? that's what happens when you talk to an english person about how they could achieve an air conditioner
