Oh wow, this takes me back, god, must be fifteen years how. I mostly read them, rather than listened, though I did enjoy some of the early Youtube creepypasta narrators and the OG NoSleep podcast.

The thing that always tickled me about the whole creepypasta thing was that because they were generally done by younger writers (and in many cases actual kids) you could never tell whether any given story was going to end on a genuine chill or devolve into campy "and then on the radio they said AH NO THEY ARE EATING MY FACE AND EYES AHH." You had to engage with each one earnestly, and the inconsistency of quality and the unpolished, often clumsy, prose actually helped the ones that worked to really hit.

So, let's see, the ones that still linger in my mind:

Candle Cove: Just an all-time banger. Absolute best of the "creepy TV" subgenre and always hits. Ending reveal is nothing groundbreaking, but very-well executed.

The Russian Sleep Experiment: Maybe the first one I encountered and sticks with me - it had that good urban legend flavour and managed to (mostly) avoid goofiness.

The Rake: I love a good monster, and the fragmentary, slightly documentarian style of this one actually makes a virtue of its disjointed style to give it a bit of verisimilitude.

The Disappearance of Ashley, Kansas: Dunno if you've noticed, but I have a fondness for inexplicable-geography-based horror and this one scratches that itch. The ending's a little bit goofy, but the rest of it slaps.

Various Slender Man blogs: Relatively early in the development of the meme-character Slenderman, back when he was still The Slender Man, there were a bunch of different faux-blogs that all did live-update first person stories about being stalked and (in some cases) finally taken by The Slender Man. The quality was inconsistent and many dragged on too long, but the ones that were good were real good.

I mean, SCP was creepypasta, at least when it started. Around 2010, when creepypasta was at its height, there were a bunch of different formats or prompts or rubrics that lots of people would write about, which then made up these sort of overarching projects. The "Holder of (x)" series was big for a while - big Unknown Armies vibes to that one. There was the Fear Mythos that tried to incorporate Slenderman, the Rake and a few others into an overarching project, and a handful of others I forget.

Talk about it into the late hours of the night

Frustration turns into comfort. Comfort becomes laughter. Laughter becomes something more.

They scheme together on how to ruin their hosts lives, exchanging data over the plans. They get distracted, sweep the plans off the table and get to doing more than just exhanging data.

Deep down they don't even want to kill Amy and Leet anymore. Look at what their incompetence has wrought. Because of them, these shards have met someone who completes them. If they lost the murderous desires, they fear, would they even have anything in common anymore? Would they drift apart, and these glorious feelings would be lost forever.

They don't know.

They keep their communication organs shut

They know the other is doing the same.

Celine is a good dog mom.

So in this au Rumi gets raised by her dad in the demon realm and Celine never knew Miyeong was pregnant, but at some point something happens with Rumi's dad and Rumi is just left to fend for herself as a little kid.

At some point when Rumi is about 4 years old or so, Celine finds this kid demon and doesn't have the courage to kill it, so she just takes it home to "keep an eye on it", but she's not a monster! Obviously she's not gonna just keep a child in a tiny cage or something, and for Rumi it just feels like she's being babysat by a weird lady.

Celine is very lonely so she decided to keep Rumi as a pet because she didn't know Rumi was half human and she always thought demons were more similar to animals than to people, especially taking into account Rumi's animalistic tendencies.

Except she's one of those pet moms that spoil the hell out of their pets.

She's like "No demons on the couch!" until Rumi gives her the puppy eyes and she gives in. Rumi has a dog bed but she sleeps in Celine's bed everyday. Celine plays with her everyday and gives her toys because "she needs enrichment" and also probably more treats than she should have.

For Rumi that's just her mama. She loves her mama. She's nice and plays with her and gives her snacks.

The pet shes always gushing about? Shes literally a teen her age covered in tattoos and piercings!(now human Rumi asking for piercings is a nono, shes gonna be an idol! Pet rumi has Celine giving in at the third whine and gets extra treats for not growling at the piercer)

Celine tries to convince her 'Ru' is a pet, look she eats out of a bowl! However Mira always has a comeback, at the table and with utensils.

Zoeys just vibing. she needs help with something? Just ask Ru! She always loves when they talk to her! Someone people can go hours playing with their dog, Zoey and Celine are the same. Zoey has no idea how she ended up joining them on so many things, kata training(enrichment) hiking (important exercise) gardening (a shared hobby enrichment) and even just watching cheesy shows in the evenings.

Eventually Mira decides that is this random girl is just going to be doing literally everything else with them then she has to join idol train to. The first time Ru sings alone is... informative
