Even though it was a sea so far away from her own, the one she was always used to, it did hold a sense of comfort to her, which was probably what she needed most at the time. Sure, it wasn’t the same place she knew for so long, but it helped. The anxiety that had washed over Dolphi when her and her friends had arrived at their new home was now just a small, lulling feeling at the back of her mind. All she could think of now was the calming blue waves and the soft sand beneath her feet. With a pretty beach like this, perhaps this city wouldn’t be so bad.
The waves lapped at her feet as she strolled along the shore, picking up tiny seashells that washed up next to her. Dolphi wasn’t much for collecting things, but seashells always held a special place in her heart. Maybe she could use them for her drawings, or give them to Wadanohara (the girl always had a certain fondness for them, after all). Either way, they looked lovely, and it only felt right to bring them along with her. The beach wouldn’t miss them, since there was already an abundance of the shells there.
Because she was so busy stuffing her bag with more and more things, it was hard for her to notice someone walking straight into her. Being the tiny girl that she was, it was easy to knock her over, and so did she fall back on her rear end with a loud squeak. Sand found itself in her dark hair and on her dress, and all the shells she had amassed spilled onto the ground.
” Ah… ! ” She scrambled to pick them up as quick as she could for fear of losing them, completely ignoring the stranger that had bumped into her in the first place. It was only now that she realized how small they were, and with this realization came a heavy sigh.
