Skywings!! I finally decided on some design elements for them so here’s some new stuff ( the male Skywings I’ve drawn before are just younger, that’s why they look a lil different, it’s not a retcon shhh). They’re birds I have to give them bird thing you understand.

Ok there was something I really liked about Frankie Vs Andi's approaches to a problem in Knights of Guinevere.

Andi method is to go via the rules she was taught. And when she hits a roadblocks she gets stumped.

Like with needing change for the vending machines, but can't get it because the shop worker won't break the her note to use his machines.

But it's Frankie's creative, and has hands-on experience from building from the ground up. So she asks the question 'well why are we doing it that way?'

The only way Andi fixes the Dino head is by rerouting it, so that the facial controls aren't spliced into the environmental pipeline.

Because Frankie points out it's a bad design, that just isn't going to work.

But that's not what Disney Park Planet wants to hear, and leads to Andi being fired.

How dare she do a not standard fit. That probably only got instituted as fudge factor patch job, in a much older model. But over the years has become gospel.

Because you don't splice two different servos through the same linkages, unless you're kinda fucked for space or parts. Or both. It'd have to drive both the expressions and the cooling, switching between tasks. It's why Dino starts melting. It can't talk and keep it's temp right.

But this is the reason Frankie would never make it in the park. She's too practical. 🤦

This is something I've run into a lot, with clashes from taught engineering students and people who learnt via apprenticeships. (Full disclosure I have an engineering degree, and my dad did the city and guilds apprenticeship route lol).

What I tend to come down on is that you to be Andi enough to know the safety regulations and laws inside and out.

Then you need to get shown by someone like Frankie all the creative ways you can bend them to get the job done, or when something novel come up.

So still being safe, but asking the 'why are we even doing it that way' questions when something stumps you.

Cus while I love the Frankie's of the world; oh god will they suggest dangerous or dumb route around a problem. Like splicing the facial controls through the environmental pipeline.

Or nicking shit from a vending machine; when the obvious solution was to give Frankie the money and make the change with the guy...

Imagine being a newly ascended magical girl archangel and suddenly being privy to what amounts to your existence in an effective multiverse and you get to see yourself mostly fall to despair and die over and over again. And through all that darkness there's that girl who in your last life before ascending you were kinda starting to be friends with and kinda hated. And she tries so hard in to save your soul from despair even though you know and she probably knows its useless, going so far as to die for you over and over again just so you don't have to be alone in your despair and death. A girl who, inadvertently through your own follies, you save from a cynical life and a very likely ignoble end and who, in the end, finds meaning to her life if for one brief brilliant moment in trying to save you.

I think there's also the likelihood that Sayaka realized the tragedy of their existence that they were basically exactly what the other needed in their lives to counterbalance each other and save each other were it not for the situation of their existence as magical girls.

And Sayaka can't do anything for this girl who has literally given up her soul for her time and again because she's dead and kyouko is not. But she so dearly wants to. Wants to repay her for all that she's done. Wants to appreciate her back. Hell, maybe just wants the opportunity to meet this girl who fate has clearly bound her to so tighty under less cruel circumstances. To tease her back and kick her ass and have a life together if they can.
