K in Wonderland-MikoTotsu fanfiction
Once upon a time in a world divded into two mighty kingdoms a king viewed his subordinates. He sat onto the windowsill of his gorgeous bedroom. It's all red. After a while he stood up and moved onward with slow steps until he reached his bed. He clothed himself in the silk bedspreak. Encased by its softness and warmth he felt calm. A knock on his door. “Sir, may I'm allowed to enter your room?” “Com'in.” the Red King responded. The door opened up immediately and a guardian dressed up into a red armor came in. “Sir, his Majesty needs to accomplish his royal obligations.” “I don't feel like doing stuff like this.” “I appreaciate your fundamentally refreshing sympathy for fullfilling duties.” the guardian laughed. The red king's glance fell onto the face of the guardian and then went back to the ceiling. “Then, let's do it finally.” He stood up and the guardian put a furry cape around the king's shoulders. He held up the doors while the Red King passed by. His eyes were half closed, as usual. They entered a room. The floor tiled in chess pattern. Huge windows to the left and to the right. The king walked about 20 meters until he finally was able to sat down on his throne. A giant piece of furniture – all red and gold. Just a few seconds after the he sat down the giant doors of the throne room opened up widely. A man came in. “Dear Majesty, lord of the country, master of all that the sun light is touching. Would you please bless me and my family?” He bowed down in front of the Red King who then raised his hand. “You should be blessed ... I guess.” He mumbled. “Oh thank you, my King! You're the greatest king of all time. We thank you for your time.” The family left the room and another person came in. Over and over again this repeated. “I'm tired.” “Just a few more, my Majesty.” When the sun disappeared behind the hills and the world turned into darkness the Red King stood up and went back to his bed room. He sank down onto his bed and fell into a deep sleep.
Next morning. “What a wonderful day. The sun just touched my face.” he stood up and put on his clothes. A white dress. Then he went downstairs. “Good morning, my Majesty.” servant took a bow. “Good morning, dear.” The White Queen gently grabbed the servants arm and made her stand up again. “How many times have I told you not to bow in front of me?” He laughed. “I'm sorry, my Majesty.” the servant laughed now, too. “It smells so well over here – is the breakfast done already? I wanted to help you.” “It's not a queen's duty to help making the breakfast, my Majesty.” “But I wanted to so badly..” “I'm sorry, my Majesty. It's against our orders to let you help us.” “But I'm able to change every order. So I will change this one, too. Tomorrow I will help you.” “May your wish come true, my Majesty.” The White Queen entered the kitchen. Everyone bowed down. A plate got dropped. A servant moaned. Everyone's head turned. They all - including the White Queen – were now looking at a young boy. He almost cried. “I'm sorry, my majesty. I'm trying so hard to be more careful... I really didn't mean to break something.” Tears rolled down his face. A guardian entered the room through another door. He wasn't able to view the Queen. “What's the matter?” He yelled angrily. “I dropped a plate.” The young boy brusted out in tears. “Then, I'll need to punish you therefore as it's usual in this area. Offer your arm for that it should be cut off in return of your inadvertence!” The guardian made a few steps forward until he stood right in front of the little boy. His back faced the Queen. “Offer your arm immediately!” He reached out for the arm. The boy was shaking his head while he held his hands in front of his cheast. “Please don't. I want to keep my arm. I will get better. I promise I won't drop anything ever again.” “This plate has a higher prize than your life, young boy. You should be more grateful for me not killing you on the spot!” The guardian grabbed the boy's arm. “That's enough by now!” “Who dares – My Majesty!” The guardians face expression suddenly changed into a mix of embarrassment and fear. “You won't cut off any arms! Nor you'll ever do! I won't allow it! It's against your order!” The Queen had an angry expression in her face. “I'm so sorry, my Majesty.” The guardian bowed down. “Get up already. And get out of here. Don't offend my authority.” “Yes, my Majesty. I'm apologising a million times.” The guardian quickly left the room. Everyone seemed to be frozen into their position. “I owe you my arm, my Majesty. I have nothing I can give you in return. I'll be grateful for the rest of my life.” The little boy still had tears running down his cheeks. “No need to thank me, dear. He was acting against the orders.” the Queen wiped away his tears. “My Majesty, may I be allowed to correct you?” an elder woman with an headscarf stepped forward. “Where have I been mistaking?” The Queen seemed confused. “It's a Guardian's order to keep down the subordinates of the royal family. For us to stay in respect and reverence of the White Queen. According to this fact they are allowed or indeed ordered to hurt and punish us for our mistakes in a magnitude appropriated by them.” The woman showed her left arm ending into a stub. The White Queen was obviously shocked. “Why hadn't anyone told me?” He stumbled. “We're sorry. We always guessed it was an order setted up by you, my Majesty.” “I need to solve this.” The Queen left the room. He ran through a long corridor. He opened a door violently and smashed into a room. With a red face and a raging expression in it. “Adviser Colourblind!” he yelled. “Adviser!” he looked under tables and behind bookshelfs. After he checked out almost every corner of the chaotic office he realised a sound. Someone's playing a violin. “Adviser Colourblind!” He ran right into the direction the sound came from. A glassy door stood up open and light pink curtains waved in the wind coming from outside of it. The Queen stepped out of the office and recognised someone sitting onto the railing of the huge balcony made out of white marble. “Adviser Colourblind!” he yelled. The violin music stopped. A man with red signs tattooed onto his cheecks and forhead let the intrument sink down onto his lap. His face reminding on a fox showed up closed eyes and lips turning from a calm appearance into an evil grin. The lean, tall man slowly opened his dark red eyes. He put the violin onto the railing and stood up. “What's the matter, my Queen.” He asked while coming closer. “You set up orders without asking me!” The Queen tried to stay calm. “What makes you think I do that?” The Adviser asked with an sarcastic undertone. “I just saw it with my own eyes. I know that the guardians get ordered to punish people in an extrem way! I despite violence and won't support this way of acting!” “Why do you worry about that, my Queen. These people are used to strict orders. Otherwise they wouldn't follow the rules. The would get naughty and lose all the respect they had towards you.” “They wouldn't! I am their Queen and I don't want them to treat me nicely just because they're scared of the punishment they'd get if they aren't!” “For how long would you stay Queen if I tell them?” Silence. After a while the he got back to words. “How would you dare doing that?” “They would all know there's no Queen at all.” “Stop saying those awful things! You're extorting me.” “That's right, my Queen. For your time of being I'll be your Adviser. That's what your parents ordered me to before .. they sadly passed away. It's my duty to help you by setting the rules and govering this Kingdom.” the Adviser walked back to the place were he put his violin. “But I am the Queen. My order will always overtop yours.” “As you wish, my Queen.” The Adviser grabbed the violin and started playing again.
“We're running out of time! You need to hurry!” “I'm trying my best.” A silent moaning. “Try harder. Your time is almost up!” The White Rabbit run through a forest filled with blooming, colourful flowers. He just entered a dark tunnel when his clocked reported again. “You're running out of time! Hurry! Faster!” “I can't run any faster – my legs are about to fall off.” “The King needs to get the message. Onwards! Faster!” The Rabbit came out of the tunnel and found himself at a huge pond crowded with water lilies. “It's pretty over here. Too bad we can't stay for long.” “In fact we can't even stay for a second. Which way do we need to go?” The clock dangled out of the jacket of the white rabbit. “Where do we need to go?” It repeat itself. “Hm. I'm honestly not certain about that.” The White Rabbit viewed the surroundings. “What do you mean by that?! Are you just kidding me?! Do you want to say we're lost in the forest and you're not sure about which way we need to go?!” The clocked dangled around heavily. “Don't be mad. I wasn't sure which way to go from the beginning.” “So we're heading up to nowhere for hours now?!” “Shush.” The White Rabbit closed the clock and put it back into his jacket's pocket. “So which way could it be?” He made a step forward and fell over a stripted root. He rolled down a hill with loud screams and moans until he smashed against a huge tree. “Why is it that noisy?” A voice spoke up. “N'argh.. Who's there? M-May you help me finding the way?” The Rabbit quickly stood up with an aching body. He rubbed his head and put his hat back on. “Why do you need to be so annoying?” The voice spoke again. “H-How is it? C'mon let me see your face.” A emotionless face appeared right in front of him. Just a head flying around. The Rabbit made a step backwards. “Whaaa! You shocked me. Cheshire.” “Tz. As if I'd care. It least I had fun making you fell over.” “What?” “Which way?” “What do you - “ “Which way?” “Ah! I want to go to the - “ “Red King? White Queen? Mad Hatter? The Caterpillar?” “Red king! Red king!” “Ow I guess I can't help in that case.” “Naah. Why not?” “I never wasted time on visiting the Red King. With all his glory and strength. I sometimes laugh about that.” “Hm. Too bad.” “The time! You're running out of it!” “Ow you're still alive.” The clock got a huge dent that would make it impossible to close it again. “You won't be able to shut me up now! Run! Faster! We ain't got time for this!” “Alright then...” Without another word the White Rabbit moved onward. “Aw, I hate seeing people leaving.” Cheshire cat faded slowly.
“What a nice time for smoking.” The Caterpillar sat down onto a giant mushroom. “The time! Faster! Quick! Go on!” He heard voices screaming. “What's that?” He turned his face and saw the White Rabbit passing by. He just noticed the Caterpillar. “You need to help us!” “Just greet me before require me things to do.” “I greet you with all my honour, Caterpillar.” “Much better. And now with a bow.” “Is this really nesseccary?” One view later the White Rabbit made a bow in front of the Caterpillar. “Almost perfect.” “What more?” “What?” “What more do I need to do?” “Nothing.” “But you said 'Almost perfect'” “In fact, I did.” “So what do I need to do to make it perfect?” “There's nothing more you can do. You're not meant to bring perfection to me.” “Aw” “What do you wish for?” “The way!” “Which way?” “That leads us to the Red King!” The clocked entered the conversation. “Good day, Clock” “Long time no see, Caterpillar.” “How is he doing?” “Fine, fine. Just heading out to be something useful.” “So which way? Aren't we running out of time, Clock?” the Rabbit asked. “Sure! May you tell us the way, Caterpillar.” “Let me think about it. Perhaps the smoke knows the answer.” He took a breath from his hookah and breathed out right after. The smoke formed arrows. “They should lead you to the Red King.” “Thank you, Caterpillar!” The clock dangled around. “Nevermind. You need to hurry. You're running out of time.” “Right! The time! The time!” The smoke flew in the direction they need to go and the White Rabbit chased it. “Bye bye.” The Caterpillar whispered. Again he took a deep breathe from his hookah and after the smoke came out of his mouth he turned around. “Hiding is just not your style.” “Good day, then.” “Who have you been, Red King?” The Red King walked around the corner. “I'm fine. What about you?” “Living an easy life with nothing to complain about then fresh air and silence.” The Red King looked at him with a light smile on his face. “I do not regret moving out in the forest at all. I know being your adviser would have been an honourful duty but I feel better over here. Away from all the noisy people and the war.” “Yeah, I can imagine what you mean.” “What's going on over there anyway? Anything new? Did the white surrender?” “No.” “What happened then?” “Another battle. Many died.” “Oh boy, you're not making any steps forward nor backward, do you?” “Seems like we don't” “For how long should the war last.” “I won't give up first.” “Why are you so subborn?” “Don't tell me what to do.” “Do you even have a clue why this war is taking place?” “They killed my parents.” “C'mon. Are you sure about that?” “... No.” The Caterpillar look at the Red King. “Then why?” “They should see we're stronger.” “And then?” “I'm not living for tomorrow.” “You never did.” “Hm.” “You'll never change, my friend.” The two of them sat onto the mushroom, breathing the hookah's smoke in. Until the sun setted. “I guess you need to get home.” “Perhaps.” “Don't let them wait.” “Hm. Good bye then.” “It was nice to talk to you.” The Red King left and the Caterpillar took another deep breath from the hookah and breathed out smoke into the dawn.
“Finally, there you are! There were two gentlemen awaiting you. They've got an important message to deliver.” The Red King's Adviser welcomed him. “I feel like sleeping.” “Sleep when you're done with your duty ... my Majesty.” The Adviser pushed him right into the throne room and closed the doors behind him. “Sit down already.” He whispered into the Red King's ear. So he walked through the giant room slowly until he reached his throne and sat down. “What's the matter?” he asked. “Dear, Red King. The one of the two mighty governments of this world. Would you let me deliver you a message from the White Kingdom?” “Speak up.” “The White Queen's not willing to succumb your orders and the White Kingdom itself is still not willing to give up on fighting until their last soldiers have fallen.” “Fine then.” “May you have another message for me to deliver the White Queen?” The Red King looked at his Adviser. “We're not going to surrender either.” he spoke up. “In fact, what the King means to say is that we're also going to fight until we're the last one's standing. We're calling the White Army out for a battle. In three days, at sunset on the Moonrise hills. Send out all your soldiers. For us to smash them down. So that we're finally considered as the winner of this war.” “I will make my way and tell her. Thank you for your time.” The White Rabbit left the room. “Now you can go to sleep, my Majesty.” The Red King stood up from his throne and went to his bed room.
Next day. Noon. “Caterpillar? May I ask you for help?” “Come over here. Sit down.” “Thank you.” The White Queen sat down onto the mushroom. “What's wrong?” “I'm a bit confused. Yesterday I saw a guardian who was willing to cut a young boy's arm off as a punishment. My Adviser knew about this orders but I didn't. Now I am not sure what more is going on in my Kingdom I have no clue about.” “Then it's time to figure it all out.” “That's why I'm here, Caterpillar. You're the only one outside my Kingdom's wall I talk to. That makes you a neutral person. May you tell me what's wrong in this world?” “With all my respect, White Queen. I can't tell.” “ “I need to know. It's more than important.” “They would hang me, White Queen.” “I won't let them know who told me.” “I can't risk it. There's to much I don't want to take a risk on.” “What do I need to do to make you tell me.” “Go find it out by yourself.” “What?” “Visite the Red Kingdom. Find out what's wrong in this world by asking the Red Kingdom's population.” “How should I do that? Isn't everyone supposed to wear red like my subordinates have to wear white? I can't go there with my dress make out of white. The would recognise me in one second.” “I will help you.” The Caterpillar breathed in some smoke and as he breathed it out again. He let it cover the White Queen completely. After the cloud of smoke disappeared the White Queen was suddenly dressed into a red dress as it's usual for women in the Red Kingdom. “You look like a Red Kingdom inhabitant now.” “Oh Yes. I do! Thank you Caterpillar! I will make my way to the Red Kingdom right now. Which way do I need to go?” The Caterpillar repeated the smoke trick with the arrows he just used to help the White Rabbit to find the Red Kingdom and the White Queen made his way. Evening in the Red Kingdom. Way too easy the White Queen entered through the giant, red gate. He hide his head under a headscarf and now dared to wide it a bit. He looked around. All the houses, the street, everything was coloured in red. “What a pretty place.” The Queen whispered. The he ran onto a man who carried a huge sack. It fell to the floor same as the Queen and the man himself. Red apples rolled all over the floor. “Don't you have any eyes in your face! Look what you've done. These are the only apples I can sell here on the market!” Angrily the man picked up an apple and threw after the White Queen. Luckily the apple missed him but due to the shock he wasn't able to move or speak. “Don't you just stand there! Help me picking them up.” The White Queen still wasn't able to move. All his life he was kept save. Got all the love and attention he wanted. No one would've ever said something unfriendly or insulting towards him. He has always been touched in the softest way possible. This experience was something completely new. “Move finally! You little brat!” The man threw another apple. This time he didn't miss and the apple hit the right half of the Queen's face. The apple smashed into pieces and the White Queen made a few steps backward holding a hand on his face. The he fell over and hit his head on something hard that made him swoon. He slowly opened up his brown eyes. “Where I am?” He found himself lying onto a simple bed with a red blanket pulled over his body and an itching pillow place underneath his head. He sat up and suddenly felt an ache in his head. “You little hobbledehoy.” A woman gently pushed him back onto a pillow. “You hit your head an swoon right in front of my house. The guardians were about to throw your lifeless body into the red river.” “What's the red river?” “You don't know? Have you lost your memory? The red river is the huge river surrounding our Kingdom. The dead bodies of sick people or people who got executed get thrown into it. The river is all red because of the lots of their blood inside of it.” “That's disgusting.” “In fact it is. But it keeps enemies away because they're scarred they may end up as a corpse inside of this river.” The White Queen kept starring at the ceiling for a while. “I can't believe you didn't know that. Where are you from?” “Are you happy here?” “What? Why would you ask me that?” “What's going on in this kingdom by now? Are we save? Are we happy?” “We're save in here. When the war stops we can be happy. Until then we will be saved.” “War?” “Yes, the war, my child. Don't tell me you even forgot about it?” “I didn't knew there was a war. Who is the Red Kingdom fighting with?” “Honey, you really don't have a clue, do you? The White Kingdom is our biggest enemy.” The White Queens eyes wided. “The White Kingdom .. ?” He slowly repeated. “Yes, what do you even know about the Red Kingdom, my dear?” “Not enough at all it seems..” The Queen whispered. “What?” “Since when is the war taking place?” “Why would you want to know that?” “Would you please tell me?” “Ah, let me think. I guess it started about 8 years ago. I'm not sure about that though.” The White Queen sat up again. 8 years of war I didn't notice? This can't be true. He slowly stood up and put his shoes back on. “What are you doing?” “I need to go home.” “I will guide you.” “No need. I thank you very much for you help.” The Queen took a bow. “Thank you.” “Oh. Well nevermin - “ The door was closed behind her before the woman was able to end her sentence. The White Queen now ran across the street again. It was late night already. The moon was shining up at the sky. “Let's paint it red.” “How should we do that? The moon is out of our reach.” “But it makes the night belong to the White Kingdom.” “The day belongs to us so who the hell cares about the night.” Two guardians now laughing crossed the Queen's way. “Hey! Who are you? What are you doing out here at this time?” The White Queen stood up straight. “I'm heading home. I'll hurry.” “You better will or we need to throw you into the dungeon. The would make you look even dumber then the damn White when you cut off their necks.” The two guardians brusted out into laughters again. “Good evening then.” the White Queen started running again. Through the gate, across the bridge right into the dark forest. I feel like someone's following me. Did they recognise me as a threat? He turned his head to look behind himself and fell over a stripped rote. He fell to the floor right into the dirt. “Aw too bad. I ruined this outfit completely.” He tried to get rid of the dirt. “Long time no see.” Cheshire appeared. “Ah! Who are you then? I've never seen you before.” “Not important. I'd rather want to know what leads you into the forest in the night. All alone. Not the right place for a young woman to be at.” “I know. I'm heading home by now. I just need to see the Caterpillar.” “Well then. Maybe you take this way.” Cheshire's tail pointed into a direction. “But I think I came here this way.” the Queen pointed into another direction. “Are you sure you did?” “Sure I'm sure.” “Fine fine. You're sure.” “Yes.” “Yeh, sure you are that.” “What am I?” “Sure.” “What's sure?” “I thought you were sure.” “Yes! I am sure for sure.” “Sure that you are?” “I'm not sure anymore what to answer.” “Well what was the question?” “You asked me if I am sure.” “Are you sure I did?” “Yes! I am.” “Then why are you still staying here. When the way you need to go is right here.” Cheshire still pointed in the other direction. “But this isn't my way.” “Now it is.” Cheshire pushed the Queen into the direction and when he was about to get back his balance a stripped root appeared again and made him fell over once more. Now he fell down a hill until he ended up on a meadow. The moon was visible now and the dark forest suddenly seemed brighter. The Queen viewed the surroundings. A noise. Steps. Someone's coming. “Hm?” Someone watched him from out of the dark bushes. “Heh?” “Who are you?” “I'm heading home.” “Weird name.” “No. I'm not sure if I should tell you my name. Tell me yours first.” “Red King would be enough.” The person stepped into the light and the Queen got to see the Red King for the first time in her life. “You are the Red King?” “Yeah.” “Nice to meet you.” “What are you doing here?” “I like the moon sometimes.” “So you do?” The two sat down onto the meadow as some flowers started blooming in the moonlight. They began to shine in the dark in beautiful colours the two of them never noticed before. None of them was white or red though. They kept talking all night long. Sometimes even laughed. Until the sun starts rising. “One more day.” “What do you mean?” “In one day at sunset.” “What's then?” “The final battle.” “The war?” “We send out all of soldiers. Same as the White's. For the strongest to come out alive.” “That's awful. We need to stop them.” “I won't. They started this war by killing my parents.” “They killed yours, too?” “What?” “My parents were killed years ago.” The Red King picked up a flower and placed it into the White Queens hair. A pink flower. “We should meet again.” The Red King mumbled while standing up. “When?” “Tonight. Here. I will be waiting.” “I will be there.” They left and as the White Queen entered her castle everything was messed up. People were hecticly running through the streets. Loud screams and moans. When he finally reached the palace the guardians didn't recognise him. “Who are you?” “The White Queen if I'm not mistaking.” he put down the headscarf. “My Majesty! I'm sorry. Please enter. What are these clothes you wear? The look almost red.” The clothes were still covered with dirt what maked them appear rather brown than red. “I will get rid of them once I'm home.” The White Queen entered his room and changed his clothes. A white dress again. “I see. I see. The White Queen finally made it home.” “Adviser Colourblind.” “Where have you been all the time?” “I explored the forest.” “You got lost on the way?” “N-no. I just made it back.” “I think you got lost.” he snapped with his fingers and two guardians came in the room and captured the Queen. “What are you doing?!” “Shut her up. No, wait. Better shut him up.” One of the guardians put a piece of fabric around the Queens face and made him unable to speak. They dragged him into the dungeons. He got chained on a wall. “I'm sorry, my Majesty.” One of the guardians paused for a few seconds. “We need to go.” The other one yelled from up on the stairs. The White Queen was left in the dungeons.
“Subordinates of the White Queen. Listen up!” Adviser Colourblind steps onto a huge balcony. “Listen up, please. I need to make an announcement.” Everyone was quiet. “The White Queen. Our beloved White Queen got lost in the forest.” Everyone moaned. Some started crying others expressed noises of incredulity. “For the time she is lost - And we all hope it's not for long - I, her personal Adviser, Colourblind will get onto the throne. To be kept in honour, respect and reverence such as the White Queen was.” The people looked at him. Some seemed to doubt his words others seemed shocked. Some others brusted out in tears. The White Queen was able to listen to the announcement of Adviser Colourblind. He tried to free himself from the chains. But it was impossible. A few tears dropped on the floor.
The day passed by. Soldiers prepared for the final battle. The sun setted and the moon showed up on the night sky. The Red King entered the meadow. Waiting for his Queen. Waiting for no one. After a few hours he fell asleep. He woke up shortly before the sun set. When he went back to the Red Kingdom he was filled with anger. The White Queen. It was her. She tried to fool him. Stole his time. And though now he felt a feeling he never had before. He went to see the Caterpillar. “Good morning.” “How have you been, Red King.” the Caterpillar breathed out some smoke through his nose. “I met the White Queen. I guess..” “What makes you think that?” “I've never seen her before and she looked like she's shining inside. Just like white.” “Is that so? So what's the matter now?” “We meet in the night two days ago. I asked her to meet last night. But she didn't come.” “This makes you feel ... angry?” “Hm. Maybe.” “And though - you have another thing bothering you more than this.” “I just wish she would've come.” “Why?” “I don't even know. I just liked her.. I guess.” “She must be someone really special that she could make you like her.” “Do you know her?” “I watched the both of you growing up. I know her for a long time.” “Was it you?” “What?” “Who changed her clothes.” “You got me.” Silence for a while until the Caterpillar breathed out some smoke again. “I wonder where she is right now.” “I'm angry.” “Is there something else?” “I have a weird feeling inside.” “What does it feel like?” “It's itching ... rather tickling.” “You're in love.” “I'm up for war.”
When the Red King returned to his kingdom the soldiers were marching up already. The sun just setted and the Red Army is now ready to march out. “Everybody shall remain in silence! Our majesty, the Red King is here!” a general yelled after spotting the Red King entering through the gate. Everyone stood there silently. No one dared saying a word. The Red King came closer and closer. “Turn them all into Red. And their Queen – I want her alive.” The soliders saluted and the Red King walked towards the Red Palace while the soldiers marched out to the battle field. Back at his bedroom the Red King sank onto his bed and fell asleep.
A few hours later. The Moonrise Hills were now the venue of the Final Battle between the Red and the White Kingdom. It will be the place where everything will be setted. The winner of the war and the ultimate master of the Wonderland. The Armies were still fighting. The largest part of them was dead already. Among the corpses of their camerades one White Soldier tried to fight against three Red Soldiers when a golden arrow hit him right through the heart and turned his white armor into a red one. „Turn them all into Red!“ a Red Soldier yelled and the rest bawled the same sentence right after. The White Army only had a few more soldiers left and the Red's were clearly superior. „We can't win.“ one White Soldier whispered to another standing right beside him. „We will fight until we're dead.“ the other one whispered. „For the Queen!“ he yelled. „For the Queen!“ the rest of the White Army bawled. The started running towards the Red Army. A few of them just got killed while running. Others were able to kill a Red Soldiers before they fell to the floor lifelessly. All the White Soldiers were dead now. The Final battle was over. The Red Army won. Screams of enthusiasm, joy and superiority came out of the Red Soldiers lungs. “Onward! We need their Queen!” a general yelled. So the Red Army marched onward until they reached the White Kingdom.
“Let me go already!” the White Queen was able to free herself from the fabric that the Guardian placed on her mouth to make her silent. “Guardians! Help me! Let me go!” a Guardian actually came. The one who apoligised for locking the Queen up in the dungeons. “My Majesty. I'm sorry. Would you please stop yelling. They will kill you otherwise.” “What? Why would they do this? What happened?” “Adviser Colourblind. He told them you got lost in the forest. The White Kingdom's population is sad and confused. They never lost a Queen so suddenly before. Also now there would be no one to inherit the throne. Adviser Colourblind entered this function.” “This all happened because I was gone for just one day?” “I'm afraid to tell you, my Majesty.” “What will Adviser Colourblind do now?” “War. He wants to win the war. The soldiers are still fighting on the Moonrise Hills.” “A battle?” “The Final Battle. It will bring out a winner and a loser of the war.” “A war I never heard about.” “The White Kingdom's inhabitants weren't allowed to tell you, my Majesty. They would have to pay with their lives.” “I don't blame you for that. I just can't believe my soldiers were fighting all these years and I never noticed.” The White Queen was about to cry. “I could've stop them. If Adviser Colou - “ He looked up to the Guardian. “It was his plan right from the start to own the trone. He was willing to let people live in fear and soldiers die on the battlefield.” “I'm afraid that's probably true, my Majesty.” “We need to stop him. Before it's too late!” “What more could he achieve?” “I'm not sure what he's all about but I will get back to the trone and stop the war!” The face of the White Queen was now filled with resolution. “Would you free me from these chains?” “I can't, my Majesty.” “Why?” “I don't have the keys for your chains.” “Too bad. We will find another way.” The White Queen tried to get her hands out of the chains again. “If you pull it while I do the same – Maybe I will get out.” “Fine.” The guardian pulled the chains while the White Queen moved her body backwards. Didn't work. “I'm sorry.” “No need to be.” “If we can't free you from the chains. Maybe we should just try to get the chains off the wall.” “That's a great idea!” “Step back, my Majesty.” the Guardian picked up a huge stone and smahed it against the spot where the chains got fastened on the wall. One chain broke off. “It's working! Could you do this again?” “I'm trying my best, my Majesty.” The guardian smashed the stone against the spot again and the second chain fell of, too. Now the White Queen was now freed from her chains. The guardian offered her a hand and both ran upstairs into the palace.
Meanwhile a Red Soldier entered the Red Palace. “My Majesty! My Majesty!” The Red King sat on his red throne and almost fell asleep. as usual. “What's the matter?” “We won!” The red king smirked. “The Queen.” “Excuse me, Sir?” “I ordered you to bring her here.” “The rest of the army is now taking over the White Kingdom. They will return with the White Queen in their captivity.” “Fine. I'll be waiting.”
“What should we do now?” The White Queen hide behind a railing made of marble while viewing the long corridor right in front of her. “I'm not sure.” the White Guardian whispered. Another Guardian appeared at the end of the corridor. “He's going to check out you're still chained and captured.” The White Guardian stood up and made a few steps forwards the other Guardian. “What's the matter?” he asked “I need to check the Queen.” “I did this a few minutes ago. She is still chained and not a word is able to come out of her mouth.” “I need to see it myself.” “Do you doubt my eyes?” “No, but it's an order.” “I fulfilled this order for you already. Now it's up to you to deliver it to the Adviser.” “Fine.” the other guardian saluted. He turned around and left. “Thank you” the White Queen whispered relieved. “No need to, my Majesty.” The two stood up and run through the corrridor. They entered a room – Adviser Colourblind's office. Untidy as usual. “Where is he?” “In the throne room. He calls himself the first White King.” “What do the Guardians do? Why did the allowed him to order them around?” “It seems like he put a spell on them – rather a curse. Most of them are following his orders now. He didn't work really careful because some guardians aren't cursed and still able to think straight – like me.” “How many of my guardians are left?” “Only me.” “Oh no. How should we go against an Army of White Guardians...?” “We need to free them from this spell.” “How?” “I'm sorry, my Majesty. I don't know how.” “Would they recognise me?” “Probably not. Would you allow me to speak, my Majesty?” “Speak up. You needn't ask me.” “Your dress, my Majesty. It's way to conspicuous. You should wear usual clothes.” “You might be right. Where could I get some from?” “I'm sure the inhabitants of the White Kingdom would offer you some. They aren't spelled. They're still loyal and believe in the Queen's returning but sadly they are too scarred of the White Army so they don't dare speaking.” “I'm glad to hear they aren't cursed.” “We need to leave the palace to find a loyal inhabitant.” “The balcony! We can climb over the railing and down into the garden. There's a hole in the hedge leading right into the city.” “Great idea, my Majesty.” The guardian stepped out onto the balcony and checked the surroundings. With a gesture of his hand he signaled the Queen that it's safe. He entered the balcony as well. The two stood right in front of the railing. The guardian jumped right over it first. He offered a hand. “I will catch you, my Majesty.” He said quietly. The Queen climbed over the railing and buried her hands into the ivy growing around the balcony. He lost the grip though and fell down. The guardian catched him gently and put him on the ground as careful as he could. “Thank you.” the White Queen smiled at him. The guardian looked aside while saying: “No need to thank me at all, my Majesty.” The Queen started running. He run through an arch overgrown with white roses and entered the giant rose garden. “The way.” he whispered while running. The guardian just followed his voice because he wasn't sure which way to go anyway. After a few minutes they arrived at a wall overgrown with roses and ivy. “Here we are.” the Queen put some of the ivy aside and the city of the White Kingdom showed up right in front of them. “I'm go first to check out if there's danger if you don't mind, my Majesty.” The guardian stepped through the wall's hole. He locked around a few times then he signaled the Queen to followed. Quickly he got through the hole. “What's that?” the Queen pointed frightened at the hill before the White Kingdom's walls. The Red Army was about to arrive. “Hurry.” the guardian grabbed the White Queen's shoulder and gently pushed her foward while looking at the Red Army coming closer. They run until they reached a house. The guardian knocked on the door. A woman opened up. Behind her three little children. “The Queen.” she said and seconds later she bowed down. Her children did the same. “May we enter?” the guardian asked. “Of course. Come in, come in.” the woman stood up and get out of the way. The guardian and the White Queen entered immediately. “I'm sorry it's that messy in here. I'm still waiting for my man to return from the battle field. Anyway, what's the honourable reason for your visite, my Majesty.” the woman said while freeing chairs from stuff. “We thought you were lost in the forest. I'm so glad you're not.” tears rolled down her face while she offered the chairs to her visitors. “My dear, don't you cry.” the Queen patted her gently. “I'm sorry for being in so rushing, but ... my Majesty. The reason why we came here. We're running out of time.” “Ah, sure.” the White Queen locked straight into the dark blue eyes of the woman. “Would you offer me some clothes. I will explain it to you later.” “Sure I would, my Majesty. But my clothes are not worth being worn by the Queen.” “I think they are.” the White Queen smiled. The woman rushed into her bed room. She came back with a dress, a sweater and a headscarf. “May this will be enough?” “It's perfect, my dear.” The Queen changed clothes quickly. “What should I do with these?” he asked the Guardian while holding the dress in his hand. “May we leave it here. Would you find a place to hide it at?” the Guardian looked at the woman. “Sure I would!” she responded. “Thank you.” he gave the white dress to the woman. He opened the door. The Queen put the headscarf on and got out. “Ah, and please don't tell anyone we've been here.” The door closed.
“Kill them~ kill them~ kill them all~ I'm going to be the king of them all~” Adviser Colourblind sang quietly while making pirouettes across the throne room. A White crown was placed on his head and a long cape made out of white fur fell from his shoulders to the floor. “The Red Army entered the White Kingdom.” “Fine. Fine. Smash them down until they're all dead.” “As you wish, Master.” the White Guardians marched out.
“Hurry, my Majesty.” the guardian grabbed the Queen's hand. “You shouldn't call me that if you don't want people to notice us.” “You're right, my Maje- ” he locked at the Queen. “We need to hurry.” The guardian wanted to turn onto another street when he saw the Red Army marching up. “This way!” he yelled and turn into another street. “I can't run any faster.” the Guardian turned around and seconds later the White Queen found himself carried. “I'm sorry – we're in a rush.”
The Red Army now entered houses. Locking for the Queen. “Where is she?” two Soldiers tugged a woman to the floor. “I don't know! Please, believe me!” she screeched. “We all know you know it!” a Red Soldier held a sword up at her throat. “Are you sure you don't know.” “She got lost in the forest! I really don't know!” the woman screams louder and louder. “Let me go!” “You're useless. So I'll make you look better at least.” the one Soldier carved his sword into the woman's neck. She screamed tortured before she sank to the ground. The soldiers moved on while two children tried to rescue their mother. “The people here don't know anything at all. Or they won't tell.” Another soldier held an arm in his hand and now threw it into the street. “They're all saying the Queen got lost in the forest.” Another soldier was about to enter the dark blue-eyed woman's house. “Maybe she's in here.” he yelled. The woman told here children to run upstairs and now sat there lonely at the table in the kitchen. The place where the White Queen just sat a few minutes ago. “It's pointless. We need to go to the palace. Stop asking people who obviously don't have a clue.” The soldier turned around and followed the rest of the Red Army. They were marching right towards the White Palace.
“They are coming~ They're coming~ How sweet~ how sweet~ How sweet their end might be~” Adviser Colourblind sang again while stepping out onto the balcony where he used to play the violin. “Come here. I will make you mine.” an evil grin onto his face.
“Where are we going?” “I know really know” “What's the plan?” “I'm not sure anymore.” “What if they'll find us.” “I'm sure it would mean we're dead.” the White Queen went silent. “We need to stop Adviser Colourblind.” he said finally. The Guardian ran into an alley and sat the Queen onto a barrel. “How should we do this?” “I don't know. Lock him up?” “He will curse us.” “How does this curse work?” “I've seen lighting's coming out of his eyes. They curse everyone they touch.” A few moments of silence passed by. “A mirror.” the guardian looked up. “Why would we need this?” “Quick.” the Queen started running.
“You're taking too long.” “My Majesty. Please be a bit more patient.” “I'll go. Bring me a horse.” “But, my Majesty.” “A horse.” “As you wish..” Minutes later the Red King marshed out on a horse heading straight towards the White Kingdom.
“Where is the Queen?” a Red Soldier yelled as they entred the White Palace. The White Guardians fighted the Red Soldiers as far as they could. A lot ended up dead. Both sides lost a lot of men. Adviser Colourblind still watched the Kingdom from the balcony. “How sweet~ Our end might be~” he sang again. Then he started playing the violin again. “Adviser Colourblind!” the White Queen climbed up the railing. “What? How can you be here?” he was shocked. “What have you done? The Kingdom's are fighting and it's all your fault!” “My fault? It's not fault, my Queen. In fact it is your fault!” “Why would it be? I am the Queen of this Kingdom!” “You've been born. Before you were in this world it was me to end up on the throne. Your parents had high trust and hope in me and they wanted me to be the first king of the White Kingdom.” “King's aren't even allowed in our Kingdom. The White Kingdom's first rule is that there shall always be a Queen in memorial of the live that a mother gives to a child.” “Then you broke this rule already. Since you were born a boy.” “It's out of matter! I am viewed as a Queen!” “You aren't one at all! You never were you will never be!” “Neither will you!” “I am King already! You can't stop me now. All these years I just awaited the Final Battle. I awaited the Red's to march in here. So I can make them mine. You will all follow my orders. I will be the mightiest king ever!” his sentence ended up in evil laughters. The White Queen looked frightened at the Adviser. “What would you do, my Queen? What can you do?” the Adviser gave him a psychotic view. „You're not able to change anything at all! I'll be King and will we be killed by the Red Army!“ another evil laughter. A few moments later his face turned into an emotionless expression. “You don't feel like laughing at all?” he made a few steps forward. “Now you feel useless, don't you? I will make you useful.” the Adviser grabbed the Queen's shoulders. “...with a curse.” he whispered. “No!” the Queen pushed him away roughly so he needed to take a few steps backward for not losing his balance. “Haha, as if you'd be able to stop me!” he said angrily. “Now just focus my eyes.” A white lightning came out of the Adviser's eyes and targeted the White Queen. “Guardian!” he yelled and within a few seconds the White Guardian jumped onto the balcony through the door leading to Adviser Colourblind's office. He held a mirror in his hand which he now threw into the Queen's arms. He held it up right in front of her face. The reflection showed Adviser Colourblind's confused and disturbed face expression and just in this moment the lighting hit the mirror. It was too fast to notice the lighting hit back and smashed into the Advisers eye. He screamed loudly before sinking to the floor. With the right hand he held his eye with the left he tried to keep himself from falling over. “DAMN YOU!” He yelled while making sounds of pain. Rightafter he swooned. The Guadian picked up the Adviser. His right eyes was bleeding. “What should be do with him?” “Into the dungeons.” The Guardian was heading to the door but the Queen didn't move. “What are you waiting for, my Majesty?” “He's coming.” That moment the Red King almost reached the White Palace. “Please bring him to the dungeons. I will await the King.” “As you wish, my Majesty.” The White Guardian left. He ran through the corridor until he reached the dungeons. He chained the Adviser and turned around when some Red Soldiers stood in the way. “Good day, White Mate.” they grined.
“Hold on!” the Queen yelled from the balcony. The Red King didn't seem to notice him at all so he jumped off his horse in front of the entrance of the White Palace. “Where are you?” he mumbled while stepping over dead bodies of White Guardians and Red Soldiers. He ran through corridor, upstairs, he entered every room until he reached Adiser Colourblind's office. He crossed the room and noticed the open door leading to the balcony. “Who are you?” he asked the woman with the headscarf sitting onto the balcony's railing. “The White Queen.” he turned around and put off his headscarf. “I found you finally.” the Red King smirked.
“Where is the Queen?” “I don't see a point in tell you.” “Can I kill him then?” the one Red Soldier looked at the other. “Com'on you killed so many of them already. I think it's my turn.” “Stop this talk!” “Shut your mouth, White! We're obviously the mightiest here.” “Mightier than your own King?” “What?” “Your King is here.” “Stop lying!” “He just entered the palace.” “You're telling lies.” “I will prove you it's true.” “How?” “His horse. It's outside of the palace.” “We need to check this out.” the one Red Soldier said. “What if he lied to us.” “We can still kill him then.” “Fine. You will come with us.” the other Red Soldier held up his sword. They pushed the White Guardian upstairs, along the corridor and through the White Palace's entrance. A brown horse white a red saddle stood there tied at a railing. “It is a Red Kingdom horse, right?”the Guardian said. “Yes it is.” the Soldiers doubted what they were seeing. “Up there.” the Guardian pointed at the balcony where the Red King stood together with the White Queen. “Our King!” the Soldier's yelled. The Red King turned around. He looked at the Soldiers for a few seconds. They bowed down immediately. Then he turned back and continued talking to the Queen.
“Why weren't you there.” “He caught me.” the Whte Queen told him the whole story of what happened. He told him the Adviser was fooling him all the time and the he didn't know there was a war at all. The Red King's anger slowly passed away. “Where is he now?” “In the dungeons.” “We should kill him.” “I don't want to kill someone.” “Then I will do.” He looked right into the White Queen's eyes. That moment the Guardian and the Soldiers entered the balcony. “Our King is here!” “The war ends by now. The White Kingdom no longer is our enemy.” the White Queen turned his head. “We're not?” the Queen asked. “I want to be with you. But not in war.” The Queen blushed a bit. “Spread the message.” “Yes, Sir!” The Soldiers and the Guardian saluted and then left the balcony. “What a nice end, my children.” the Caterpillar sink down onto the cloud of smoke. “Where do you suddenly come from?” the White Queen seemed confused. “I was viewing my children all the time.” “Why didn't you help us?” the Queen seemed a bit upset. “There was no need to. I knew sooner or later you would solve this by yourself. Also I banned myself from both Kingdom. This means their activities were no longer my buisness. I always had the sense that the two of you would get connected and end this war.” “You must be kidding.” the Queen asked. “Anyway, you had someone helping in my place.” “Who was it?” “There was someone by your side when you needed him.” “The Guardian.” the Queen looked up. The Caterpillar smiled at her. “Rather a mushroom.” “This all was your plan right from the start? You also sent him out to help me?” “Maybe it was. But I didn't send him. He wanted to go. I just did the magical part. Eventually, I'm glad it turned out well and that you found each other.” The Red King grabbed the White Queen's hand. “We did.” he said. Both of them blushed. “Well, ... you need to know one thing about the White Queen not even her subordinates heard about.” the Caterpillar broke the silence. “I should tell him, Caterpillar.” the White Queen got a sad face expression. The Caterpillar noded. “I really liked being with you. I wanted to see you in the future again, get to know you better...” “What is it?” the Red King asked. “I'm not what you may think I am. I'm not a Queen. I'm rather a King.” A few seconds passed until the Red King understood. But he didn't let go of the Queen's hand. “I'm not a girl, Red King.” the Queen looked aside. “I don't mind.” the Red King pulled him closed and kissed him gently. Now the Queen's face was all red while he was trying to collect some words. “You know, in this Kingdom there shall only be a Queen... Therefore, my parents put dresses on me. They wanted me to be able to reign over this Kingdom.” The Red King nooded. “Now it's our Kingdom. Just like mine.” The Caterpillar waved at the two of them before flying away onto his smoke cloud.

A few years later the White Queen and the Red King got married. Together they build up a Kingdom which was supposed to be the mightiest of all time. The Kingdom's no longer were enemies and inhabitants even meet and befriend with each other. The White Guardian became the White Queen's new Adviser while Adviser Colourblind was banned to eternally darkness. His eyes were darkened so that no one could fall for his curse and he would never be able to see the world he wanted to reign ever again.
“I'm not able to imagine what life was like before we got together.” the White Queen said while laying his head down onto the Red King's shoulder. “Me neither.” he said. The two of them sat into the giant rose garden which was build up after the Kingdoms got united. “Red King! Red King! I painted them all red!” the young boy came running with roses in his hands. “They are all red now.” “Why not white?” the White Queen asked. “Because the Red King would want them to be red, right?” “I want them red and white.” “Alright, my Majesty! I will paint them this way!” the young boy ran away again. “We're good together aren't we.” the Queen patted the little girl sleeping on her lap. She had white long hair which was now waving in the wind. Soon after she opened her pure red eyes. “Red and White can look so beautiful together.” the Queen whispered. The girl closed her eyes again and fell asleep.
For a while they kept starring at the sunset that turns the sky above their Kingdom's into pink.
