Now that the artbook has released i wanted to add that it confirms this theory, as this character design is on Anthropos' page and is labelled as Adam's design. This leaves the question on whether it was planned that he'd appear, perhaps in a flashback given his role in the story, or whether there's a further connection between these two characters.
On a humble subjective opinion, i imagine it was likely to be the case of the former rather than the latter, as this is the only appereance of Adam that i have located so far, both in the game and the artbook.
