  peter was studying her in silence for a few minutes, keeping himself a bit tense. as if waiting for the other shoe to fall. bringing his lips into his mouth for a split second, finally breaking the silence. “ okay, let me have it.” breaking his serious tone up with a small chuckle, “ you’re not planning on giving me a verbal kicking too? tell me that…I’m an idiot for doing that?” he cut himself off before he could say anymore. not wanting to come off too aggressive, or like he was ungrateful for her help now.

“ but…uhm…thanks. for–well–this. I’m glad you’re here to help. and that you’re–you know, not hurt.”

  his arms looped around her middle, pulling her close as if there was something close than being against him. and it still wasn’t close enough. brushing his nose against hers before he quickly stole a kiss from her. a laugh of excitement escaping as he did, “ hmmm, I’m pretty sure. but I might need you to do it a few more times just so I can be extra sure. and maybe because I missed you. a whole lot.”
