âGod, I need a drink,â she sighed to herself, the fake ID passing well enough to get her in and the bartender barely glanced at it. She leaned against the bar as he mixed her drink, her eyes scanning the floor. She needed to forget, let herself fall victim to youth and the need of any feeling other than the one that consumed her heart. Her phone was turned off, she didnât need more of his texts after Pearl told her the truth. How could she have been so stupid? Tonight, it didnât matter. The world was hers and she wouldnât go home until she had her way with it.
Felix wasnât much of a drinker, but after the day heâs had he figured he could use one. He got fired from the job he just started because he accidentally busted a door off its hinges when he slammed it. In his defense, the lady running that store was a real jerk but still. He had to do better here. He was on his own, he had to be careful. But he could start tomorrow. Until then, he needed a drink. When he overheard the blonde saying exactly what he was thinking, he couldnât help but smile. âIâm buying if you want.â
