“If all the ham is gone by the time I get to the front of this line, there will be hell to pay.”

It had only been a few days, most of which Aaron spent unpacking the few things he had. His place had to seem homey, but most of the items that were there didn’t quite matter. It’d be easy enough for him to just pack his clothes and skip town if he needed too. When he heard about the potluck, though, Aaron knew he had to go. It would be the perfect place to scope out the people in this town, most specifically the mutants he was looking for. The gathering was large, walking in with a feigned excitement. “Wow, I haven’t seen this much celebration for Easter in a long time.”

“So.. The town is putting on a big easter egg hunt? Is it bad that finding one of those golden eggs means more to me than sleep?”

Felix wasn’t good at parties. He was always afraid of bumping into someone to hard or breaking something due to the fact that he had zero control over his own strength. Doing the simplest thing was complicated and even though he’s only known about his ‘gift’ for a month tops it still felt like he had just found out yesterday. As he made his way through the crowd, his eyes scanned the room for the food. Things were easier when all he could do was eat and leave.

“I now remember why I don’t come to these things. There’s plenty of people here I could’ve gone a few more weeks, maybe months, without seeing.”

"Should I be paranoid that some shit is going to go down because there’s a large group of us?”
