TALINE: WHOA MY SHOWER HEAD BROKE AND NOW THERES WATER ALL OVER MY BATHROOM

“i’m sorry… i’m not trying to ignore you or anything.. i just have a lot going through my mind right now and i can’t get my head to stop turning.” the girl explained with a small pout, an exasperated sigh fell from her lips. “i just -- i think it’s bullshit that people seem to think a girl can’t be both smart and pretty. i mean, i was the top of my class when i graduated, but does anyone believe me? nope. i’m just a pretty face.” 

laying down and resting her head on the other’s couch, taline's eyes traveled up to land on sammy’s face. “i have a weird question to ask.” which is stated as the girl absentmindedly played with the ends of her sleeves. “don’t you think it’s weird how everything just kind of... ends up the way it is supposed to? like – everyone has a purpose and once they find it, they either find a new one or are content with their life?” her eyes meet the other’s before she looked away. “sorry – i probably sound dumb.”

"please, for the sake of your vision, don’t look at me right now." she’d been at the gym and she didn’t expect anyone to be awake so early, making her one sweaty and confused girl. "shield your eyes!"

“i wish that i was a koala… that way i could sleep for eighteen hours.” granted, taline couldn't remember the last time she slept for more than a handful of hours. “i don’t know what my problem is but i just can’t stay asleep.”

“what did you say?” she questioned while looking up from her phone. taline wasn’t trying to ignore him. it was just that her phone started blowing up from the group chat she was in with some friends from school and she was trying to mute the chat so that she could focus on the person she was with. “sorry, my friends are blowing up my phone and i didn’t want it to be dinging every two seconds.”

“you know, i thought i had honestly seen it all. but just wow, i was blown away by some asshole at work.” she said while she taking her shoes off. taline had just gotten home from her shift. “i gave someone their check and told them to have a good day. and when i went to pick up their bill, do you know what the tip section said? fucking ‘tip me over and pour me out’. like, what the fuck is wrong with people? that's the last time i cover anyone's shift that isn't my own. i’ll stick to gelato scooping.” an aggravated sigh left the girl before she shook her head. “on the bright side, i don’t work any other shifts this week. so if you wanted to go out and do something, we can.”

"why don’t you stay the night? you know, we could have our own little sleepover." the female laughed, bringing out glasses and a bottle of wine. "i’ve got wine, too, and netflix is already up on the television. i’m not forcing you, but no isn’t answer i wanna hear right now.”

"it’s not that long of a walk -- stop being so lazy!" taline grinned, walking alongside the other. the girl was really in need for someone to tag along for support to go to this art gallery -- one she'd been dying to see. "look, i’m in heels and i’m perfectly fine. you know what? i promise you right after we can go grab a bite and i’ll pay. sound fair?"

“you caught me on a bad hair day. don’t judge. i woke up late for class and coffee is the only thing keeping me up now.” she lets out a long sigh, before taking a sip of what’s left of her latte in her hands. “i’m really running on empty right now. can you buy me another latte? i’d really owe you one.”

“agreed! it’s been on loop for a while. speaking of the holidays do you have any plans?”

“honestly? i’ve been trying to get out of going to thanksgiving or christmas with my family because i really don’t want to confront my dad about school. he’s been asking me how my classes are and he expects so much out of me, but i’m only one person that can only do so much. like, it’s so much pressure. but, besides my family problems, how about you?”

     “ enough for me to get mad about it, “ she replied, “ the problem is, i don’t know who did it… but even imagining an outlet for the absolute betrayal i feel is good enough. “
