I had a fight with a person recently, the person criticizing my snoots because flareons don’t have “snoots” and it’s “flat faced”, they say you should learn the style of the original style of the pokemon before you draw them instead of just going off of a limb. Now I’m all down for constructive criticism but telling someone they can’t make their own style because that’s not the style or that’s not the body feature that was attended isn’t right.

Personally I think art is anything out of the creative mind, good or bad. I don’t think your should be limited to a certain “style” because the “original” style says so… being creative is when you do something out of the will of your mind and you enjoy it! You should have stings attached to you because someone says so!

They said your art won’t get better if you don’t “display” the original copy, AND practice it.

You know what I have to say to that? Practice makes perfect! Make your own style and prefect it your own way! Wether that be all through your mind or looking at other art to get the picture! Your art will get better as long as you practice! Even if it’s slow ENJOY it!!! Art should be something you are forced into or have strings attached to! Do what you love! Embrace it! Don’t stress over it! Have fun!
