Here are 5 things worth doing before your rider ever starts the engine:

1. Fit the gear first. Helmet, gloves, boots, and pads should fit correctly before any riding. Not after.

2. Set the throttle limiter. Every beginner gas mini bike has one. Use it. Start slow and build confidence over weeks.

3. Check the chain tension and brake feel. A loose chain or soft brakes are the two most common causes of early maintenance issues.

4. Pick the right surface. Flat, open private property is ideal. Gravel and slopes come later.

5. Save the parts and manual. You'll need both sooner than you expect.
