i think love is when wei wuxian drank that shot of alcohol for lan wangji even tho lwj was being pressured into drinking it because he knew the lan sect didn't drink alcohol as a part of the sect rules, but the sect rules were also being used to justify lwj drinking the alcohol so wwx drank it for him so lwj wouldn't have to deal with the guilt of disobeying his clan rules because wwx knows how much lwj adheres to the rules, and even if he thinks its dumb, he still respects that aspect of lwj's personality and doesn't try to force him to change but instead accepts and defends that part of him instead, much like how lwj did with wwx's demonic cultivation; he knew it was wrong and that it was harming wwx go a certain degree, but instead of being violent and trying to force him back into regular cultivation, he still respected that that was the path he wanted to take (and that it was the only path he could take at the time in order to protect those he cared about) and thus did everything in his power to try and help him without being violent towards wwx or the wens. love is walking alongside someone on a single plank bridge without yelling at them to get off, but providing a gentle hand at their side in case they lose their balance
