It's Intimidating, but I've been Invited to reality much nicer that what I'm used to. I'll take baby steps out of the familiar and eventually move on.

After that one who had been weak for so long sprouted again. The part that loves. It said nothing to her, it simply enjoyed her presence. It barley had the strength to stand on it's own. It had been inactive for so that even now it still barley manages to understand it's on purpose.

Once upon a time we walked together. But now you've stopped and remain where in a place where I can't stay. My world is constantly changing around me as day after day passes, good and bad events happen which you will never know of. Births, deaths, new friends, new opportunities, triumph and tragedy alike . Things I wish you'd been around to see. New people who would have loved the opportunity to meet you enter my life fairly often. Every step towards the future tears at me but I can no longer afford to stay by your side. Time moves for me,birthday after birthday passes for me. Years fly by in the blink of an eye and will accelerate faster than I could possibly imagine. I'm getting too old to cling on to you. My time to move on has come but I'm in no rush. Goodbye.

I never imagined in a million years I'd find someone else down in these depths. I see you, I see your pain, I see your hurt, I see the torment you go through. I see all the nasty tricks your mind plays on you. I see everything that causes you pain because I've lived it too. But I also see what an incredible person you are. You make me feel like the best version of myself. The me that feels complete. You fill me with more confidence and love than any person I've ever met and for that I can only ask that I can pay you back. Let your pain be mine and you'll never have to suffer alone, because we can fight together. The crushing pressure and darkness down here may be our normal but It doesn't have to be. We can build a new normal, one better then the one we have. One where the inky blackness no longer blinds us. One where the pressure no longer feels so intense. One where you always have someone to support you, be your biggest advocate and greatest friend. I love you. I love everything about you. Give me that chance.

Eventually there comes a point where all that's left of a person is the things they once had, Things that become the last evidence of their existence. A small escape from their absence is granted by things that would have been unremarkable otherwise. Every piece of clothing, every accessory,every knick knack, every object is a piece forever connected to their life.

A few months before he passed I interviewed him for a collage writing assignment about generational differences when growing up. But after talking to him I learned we were actually very similar, and I learned many interesting things about my family history too. It helped me process and get a new perspective about a lot of personal issues I was dealing with.The paper I wrote from that conversation got me a 100% with strict professor where the highest grades were usually a B. My grandpa kept a physical copy of the essay. I think about him sometimes and it sucks to not have him anymore, but I'm grateful I got the opportunity to spend time with him.
