fun fact about me is that when i was a kid id write capital Eâs with as many of those little horizontal lines as possible and id call them ladder Eâs and adults fucking hated them
artistic rendition
All capital letters should have a leveled-up form
So far Iâve got
ladder letters: A, E, F, H, T
humpback Bâs and Pâs get as many bumps as you think they need
circle Oâs, you just keep spiraling in til you feel like youâve made your point
tree letters branch into smaller versions of themselves ad nauseum: X, Y
spider Qâs, so many legs
Please add your own unsettling godtier capitals!
New alphabet dropped!
oh my god, itâs beautiful
(future handwritten notes are gonna be so wonderfully cursed now, thank you! :D )
well itâs going to take some getting used to, @ceekari (donât mind the redacted letter between T and U)
But I think iâve taken a real shine to it!Â
recursive
So i may have done a thing in an insomnia fueled jaunt into insanity.

In her short film âOMG SHEâS BALDâ, Charnah Ellesse of girlswillbeboys explores modern ideas of femininity through women of different cultures who have shaved their heads.
âSocial media isnât evil. Â There are neuroscientists in some of these companies, but for the most part I donât think it was done maliciously. Â But advertising is the business model. Â And if advertising is the business model, our attention becomes the product. Â Two variables matter to the bottom line: the amount of users and the amount of time they spend on platform. Â And what gets measured gets optimized. Â So our phones have become slot machines. Â We scroll and scroll and scroll, and eventually we hit something that gives us a dopamine reward. Â Itâs by design. Â Because slot machines make more money in the US than theme parks, baseball, and movies combined. Â Both Vegas and Silicon Valley know that our brains can be manipulated if presented with a certain set of choices. Â Obviously addictiveness isnât the only feature of these platforms. Theyâve empowered so many voices. Â Iâd just love to live in a world where our most influential technology didnât measure its success by the time it took from us.â
.@GreenPeople's #organic haircare inspires my dinner
Back on the #GreenBBlogger bandwagon, with a #greenbeauty review.Â
I bumped into Green People again over Organic September, and I remembered how much I (and beauty editors across the UK) had enjoyed its launch of Age Defy+. A note to my pal in the PR team duly dispatched to see what was new, and a parcel of mouth-watering samples arrived the next day.*
Neatly timed for a dash to Barcelona for a long, lazy weekend in the city's achingly hipster quarter of Gracia, I rummaged around for travel essentials. I pride myself on my exceptional no-checked-luggage-for-this-gal packing skills, and this trip would be no different.
From a pragmatic point of view, the 100ml Quinoa & Artichoke shampoo and conditioner are perfect for carry-on luggage. From a I've-just-been-travelling-all-afternoon-and-now-I-need-to-freshen-up-before-I-spend-the-night-eating-tapas-on-the-placÊ point of view, they made for a reviving shower, moments after dropping my clobber inside my Airbnb apartment.
Three things I found very pleasing: 1. The quinoa's volume boost wasn't a hyperbolic claim. 2. The artichoke leaf extract did a cracking job taming frizz, and smoothing down my leaving-it-slightly-too-long-for-a-trim ends. 3. I was reminded how much I liked artichoke, and scoffed down an artichoke and avocado salad that evening for dinner. Like Green People's organic haircare, it didn't disappoint.
*I'm not exaggerating. My housemates agreed it was the most delicious-smelling parcel ever delivered.

A #Nordic approach to #SlowFashion
Returning from a recent trip to Denmark (and following some gripe of mine about the unseasonably crap weather), my mother smugly informed me over her newly-purchased, Danish-design tea cup, âthere is no bad weather, just bad clothing.âÂ
Enter stage left: designer Lisbeth Løvbak Berg (L-L-B) back with a new season of Sheltered. On inspection, itâs exactly what youâd expect of the Nordic approach to Slow Fashion - aesthetically clean, crisp lines, and multi-functional.Â
Taking inspiration from the wind and the rain (surely the best opening conversational gambit for the Scandinavian and British alike), Berg describes her collection as a âtextile shelter,â an âurban camouflage.â Iâm seriously taken with this dress (above) and these trousers (below). Able to stare down a British autumnâs infuriating indecisiveness over the temperature and/or wind speed? Yes. Speedy transformation from daywear to evening? Bingo.Â
No more excuses - there is no bad weather, just bad clothing.

PostScript: For readers in British climes, Bergâs jackets from her Citadine collection are the most appealing. Think hoods, think back-packed jackets with unfolding rain-macs, think rain-macs that arenât from Regatta. Think a refreshing take on the (hideous but highly practical) waterproof overalls you unfold over your rucksack ahead of a particularly soggy cycle ride. Weâve all got one, right?

Final #FringeWatch in #Kernow. Here, at two, I'm working unbrushed curls, and a tiny baby brother accessory (both of us held securely by my mother's hands).
