Hey, so if you were wanting a longer version explaining my absence from aftertaste, here it is!
Essentially it boils down to: I am, in my heart of hearts, a procrastinator.
Turns out when you used writing as a way to procrastinate school work, and you graduate and no longer have school work, you end up procrastinating writing instead. Who knew?
But outside of that, I've also been super busy (mostly in a good way). I've been to soooooo many concerts over the past year (including all 4 days at Lollapalooza). I got back into some of my other hobbies such as reading, collecting comics, drawing, and gaming.
I started part time at a hotline job while still working in a group home. That hotline job is now my full time job and I officially have a 9-5 (and yes I have listened to the Dolly Parton song on my way to work at least once). I really love my job there, it honestly makes my life feel so fulfilled.
I've also been traveling a lot and I think its really helped my perspective on life and its really impacted my art in a meaningful way.
But to sum it all up, I am extremely excited to be back and posting aftertaste. I have sincerely missed posting this work and seeing all of your lovely comments. So hopefully you enjoy what I have in store for you all!

Hey, Fredzina, you're probably not gonna see thus, but I still decided to write this on the off chance that you do. I'm a big fan of your fanfic "Aftertaste: After the War" and I was really wondering if you are planning to release part two of the story. I'm NOT trying to pressure you into posting anything. I know that you are a person that probably has a lot going on in their life and probably doesn't have the time to update a fanfic. But, I'm truly a really big fan of your work and wanted to know if you decided to discontinue the fic, because in your last author's note you said that you would probably start posting the next part in 1-2 months and it's been way longer since you've lasted updated. I promise you I'm not trying to pressure you into posting or updating anything. As I've previously said, you're probably not even gonna see this ask, but if you somehow manage to then PLEASE answer. Hiiii!!! Honestly this is so sweet and sorry that im coming to this a bit late! But YES! I am planning on releasing part 2 of aftertaste. Honestly to explain what happened I graduated from college and I overestimated how much time I'd give myself to write.
In college I had a consistent schedule and used writing as a way to procrastinate doing my assignments. Now that Im out of college I find my brain wanting to procrastinate writing (much to my and my partner's dismay).
I have been working on part 2, just at a slower pace. Pretty much my goal is to get a few more chapters of part 2 finished and then edit some of the earlier chapters before I start posting so you guys can get the weekly Sunday chapters without pause.
I've been wanting to post something about why it's taking longer here but I wasn't sure if anyone would see it, and I didn't want to add a chapter onto ao3 just to say I'm taking longer than I thought and catfish any of my readers.
All this to summarize. Yes, I'm coming back with part 2 (and 3 (and possibly some in-universe one-shots)). And thank you so much for sending me this ask because honestly it put some more wind in my sails to work on the current chapter I've been writing
