Just wanted to share a tip I know about how to make the Quarter Tile Placement Cheat on all the time so you just have to press Ctrl + F when you want to use it without having to type in a cheat each time.

Many of you may know that adding “setquartertileplacement on” to your userStartup.cheat doesn’t work, so I’m going to tell you where you can put it that does work, in case you didn’t already know!

So, head to Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config and open up the file called “globalProps.xml” with a text editor, I recommend Notepad++. You should probably make a backup of this file first before making any changes, just in case.

In this file, scroll to the bottom and you should see a line that says:

<AnyBoolean key=“quarterTilePlacementEnabled” type=“0xcba908e1”>false</AnyBoolean>

Simply change the false to true and save the file and that’s it! The Quarter Tile Placement cheat will always be on without you having to type it in ever again! Simply toggle it on and off with Ctrl + F!

Hope that helps at least someone! I was telling my friend @morepopcorn​ about this trick and I couldn’t find the website where I initially read about how to do this anymore so she suggested I should make this post as it might not be common knowledge.

Read me before starting!

Before starting this will take a while so don't rush it. It will only lead to problems. YOU NEED TO DO ALL STEPS IT WON'T WORK IF YOU DON'T. Trused me on this pls. This tutorial only works for legacy collect. If you have the older version you will need to install Sims2 Sims2RPC By @lazyduchess

First you will need to Download Reshade and TS2.Extender.0.6.0. by @lazyduchess You need Ts2.Extender if you don't download it Reshade will not show up in your game.

2. After that Run ReShade_Setup_6.6.2.exe And you should find this on your screen. After you have gotten ReShade open click on the Browse.. butten.

3. Then when you get a explore pop up locate your Sims 2 Legacy directory. Normally this is the Paths to your Sims 2 Legacy game "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP9\TSData"

4. Then you will see this screen and you need to select Directx 10/11/12 I won't work with any of the other ones. When you have select Directx click next.

5. Then click Uncheck all 2 times to select all effects.

6. After that's done it is time to install Ts2.Extender. You do this by copying the download folder to this location "C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy" and then the TSBin and TSData To "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP9"

7. After you have installed Ts2.Extender You will need to go in to your TheSims2.exe and making sure you have Show hiden Files extensions truned on. If not turn it on. This is important for the next step.

8. Then rename dxgi.dll to ReShade.asi. If you don't do that TS2.extender won't inject the ReShade add on and it won't show up in your game.

9. Then it is time to start your game. If it doesn't work read here if not you can jump over the red txt(If this pop-up doesn’t show up, something isn’t right. Look Back and see if you missed a step and if you still can't get it working you can comment your problem and i will see if i can help.) Now you will need to wait for resahde to Complaining your shader and effects. this will take i some minuts so be patient. If your game freezes, that’s normal it will return soon.

10. When it is done you can press the Home key or whatever else ReShade gave you by default. The home key is often the one. It is located over your numpad. If you don't have the numpad it is a other key. But i can't tell what key it will bel.
