while im at it I need yall to hear me out okay BECAUSE archangel is a coed group that is larger than 3 people and has a lot more eyes on it than the ark did in iwbft the choreo tends to pair them off boy-girl boy-girl boy-girl and since fereshteh is jimmys roommate and they have the most chemistry (not in a romantic way just in a they hit harder than 2 hot people next to each other way because the relationship has like plausible acceptability) AND PLUS because jimmy & fereshteh are roommates theyre just generally closer than jimmy & rowan were in iwbft. jimmy & fereshteh are often paired for choreography sequences that are like relationship baiting or more chemistry based and so even tho the archangel fandom has a million and one ship configurations, jowan is by far overtaken by the fan favorite of jereshteh (name pending). NOW THAT IVE SAID ALL THAT does this inspire feelings of anger or evoke a mutiny

AND HEY if I canonize this that means that a piece of the puzzle that could have held lister away from being closer to rowan (his proximity to jimmy and the fact that rowan would probably always chose jimmy over lister a la the suitcase photo incident) would be removed because the president of the taking care of jimmy brigade would be fereshteh and not rowan!! and so even tho rowan is still part of the brigade lister is less inclined to avoid him in all directions and more likely to drunk confess every thought in his head to him which would explain why they're roommates. and it also means that Lister wouldn't hate the president of the brigade because its fereshteh!! and even though he doesnt feel very spill my guts at your feet about her because she does have a tie to jimmy, it doesnt really matter because she already Knows because theyre so alike. so like its already too late but it doesnt matter because he sees it comes from a place of jimmy is an angel and not from a place of you are a stain on this earth (which IWBFT Rowan definitely never said or implied or even believed but lister would probably take a single annoyance and run 100 miles with it). all that to say IM NOT MESSING WITH CANON TO MAKE THEM MORE TOXIC THIS TIME OKAY THIS IS FOR THE BEST am I selling you yet

archangel rowan vs lister nonchalance olympics except lister doesnt know theyre competing

i would like to be clear. lister is ABSOLUTELY winning. rowans problem is that he can play at disinterest and detatchment but he cant actually detatch himself. so he acts cold but is always running calculations trying to appease The Fans. meanwhile lister does care about what the fans think of him, but at the end of the day he won't stop being a showboating charmer if everyone hates him because hes too attached to that facet of himself

the thing is that rowan would contort himself in batshit crazy ways to keep the court of public opinion from turning against him. so his obsession with how the public sees him feeds into itself in that hes very aware of the fact that hes faking it but sees that the rewards (the fame and money, etc) are worth the cost (pretending to be whoever tf). but Lister isnt really aware of just how much hes putting on a show because he walked into the kpop sphere already doing a smaller version of this performance, so this is second nature to him and hes just enjoying the larger and grander rewards (from successfully distracting people from the fact that hes kinda unsupervised all the time to being a celebrity). which he does see his social ease as a personal failure because he thinks he only got to where he is because of his "star power", which is really just charisma rebranded, and not any particular skill. but rowan is just jealous of listers ability to effortlessly and instinctually play everyone and everything into idolizing him while rowan is so incredibly aware and intentional in upkeeping his public image

if I say rowan asserts his inferiority complex to lister by trying to bring him down to his level is that me projecting my dad onto him too much
