"Back on his meds" jokes aside, I think that's actually just his public customer service face when he's doing something he is unenthused about but has to put on a positive public expression. His pose in the Pride art ironically screams to me that despite Val and Vel's efforts, he's about as comfortable up there as Angel Dust, but knows the value of a corporate Pride Parade float. I think he's just not actually comfortable with putting himself out there as out-and-proud bisexual. Depending on the intended timing of the art post-S2, maybe also not comfortable being front and center in public in general when his ratings are down.

Anyway, yeah, I think he's just doing customer service face, zoned out "kindly" CEO edition. He does the same thing at Christmas like anon said, and also when he's doing the soup kitchen in season two.

Something, something, the Vees 2026 Pride float is Valentino and Velvette grinning enthusiastically in matching toned-down business skirts flinging out their flags with all the drama and vim of the laser light show their float is putting on, flanking Vox in center stage in a blinged-out, sparkling suit looking like he's just been put back on his meds with his flag tucked behind his back as he gives everyone the royal wave.

Not to get on my aro Alastor shipping soapbox again (I guess I never left tbh) but this is one of those things that has been driving me to continue expanding on TCHBW the whole time. Like, the notion of doing a ship-centered series that nevertheless does not touch the deeply allo “well sure you have your friends and stuff but then one day you’re going to meet your One True Love and everyone else will stop being important and you’ll even distance yourself on purpose from them and your life will forever revolve around Your Person and the Couple as a Unit”
