From a very early age, he developed a strange fixation with Henry's hair and beard. He would pull it or put it in his mouth; they had to buy little gloves to keep him from pulling out his hair.
Although it may seem distant, William was the first to take him in his arms.
His first word was "Da" referring to Dad, but never specifying which one, as he said it both when Henry spoke to him and when William carried him. There were stupid arguments about it, although Elliot just wanted attention.
He loved William's voice, but only when he spoke softly. William's voice, with that peculiar accent, calmed Elliot. If he spoke too loudly, Elliot would cry, which sometimes led to William whispering everything around him.
"You little shi– sunshine, daddy loves you'
He learned to "grunt" to demand to be picked up before anything else.
"Use your words, Elliot."
"Nah, that's efficient. Like a machine"
He would bang his head against whatever was in front of him when he wanted attention. Literally, he'd sit in his chair and if no one paid attention to him, bam! His head would hit the plate. William said it was a sign of willpower; Henry insists it's a sign of a future concussion.
Sometimes Henry would put socks on his little hands when he couldn't find his gloves (which also prevented him from scratching his own face).
His teeth came out prematurely, and he decided to use them for evil. He would bite EVERYTHING. Toys, bushes, William's arm, Henry's shoulder. Anything within reach.
He loved boxes, not the expensive toys he had. Boxes. He once got into one and didn't want to come out.
"He's not mine, definitely not."
"A baby that prefers garbage. Case closed."
