i think we're doing well for ourselves.

i just found myself using this random trick that one of my art professors taught me and i thought other people might like it!

other tips: -at rest, the elbow hits the bottom of the ribcage, and the wrist hits the bottom of the crotch -the distance from your inner elbow to your wrist is about the same length as your foot -the length of your hand (from wrist to the tip of your middle finger) is about the same length as the distance between the bottom of your chin and your hairline

so, if you have a feeling that proportions are wrong on something, those work as quick gauges. like, if a character’s forearm looks too long, try to visualize their foot being the same size and see if that works. if the hands look too big, look at their size in relation to the face.

like ellen came out and on her sitcom had her character come out as well so there could be lgbt representation on tv (which was virtually nonexistent at the time, 1997) and the studio was faced with bomb threats and she was told (probably countless times) she was going to hell and was disgusting, and it there was such an uproar her show was cancelled and her career was completely stunted. she fell into depression. she persevered and ever since has been an advocate for LGBT rights and AIDS awareness, and now has her talk show that spreads positivity and she stills donates money to people in need

meanwhile caitlyn jenner came out (already a multimillionaire) to huge positive reception and was offered TV and books deals (good). but jenner is also a conservative republican who, among other things, supported reagan during the fucking AIDS crisis and uses the some condescending rhetoric all asshole republicans use when talking about same sex marriage (”i’m just a traditionalist, it’s always been a man and a woman….if the word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you then fine) like come on

Oprah got bomb and death threats too simply for associating with her, and threatened if she ever had Ellen on her show again it’d be the last thing she did

needless to say she did have Ellen back and spoke about this, but literally everyone around Ellen was threatened with death simply for being around her

and now she’s being threatened again because she didn’t bow down and kiss Jenner’s feet and proclaim that Jenner’s right, marriage isn’t that important! whatever you say.

and, has Jenner called out these people attacking a fellow LGBT person? has Jenner actually done anything to help the LGBT? I remember some large donations to Reagan continuing the AIDS crisis, but I can’t seem to recall any new donations of any of those multimillions going out to actually help any LGBT people in need.
