Merlin is inhuman at his core, but perhaps thanks to Blaise's guidance, that ability to at least pretend to understand humans is able to exist. Even when overshadowed by Merlin's adept Magecraft, Blaise never felt shame over this fact. In fact, Merlin was their pride and joy. Keeping to shadows and acting as an overseer was what they did. There was no one to tell their own story, as they refused to write about themself. In fact, it's said they don't even have a recorded death. Is that really the case?

There is a price, which acts similar to a time-bomb and will catch up with Blaise in due time. The evil they wish to rid others of is superimposed over their own self, leading to their demise. Well, it'd make sense for them to meet their demise after taking on such evil, but it seems this is not the case. It is more akin to a redo of their birth, without erasing their existence or acknowledging their past self as dead. This causes complications, as expected. In the current day, they are unable to use this Noble Phantasm.
