yes hello TYPE-MOON merchandise makers, i couldn't help but notice you missed a certain someone.

literally no one is asking what mountain the (main branch) animuspheres specifically made their territory, except that is not true, because i am asking.

keep in mind this is a headcanon only.

let's start with facts. the animuspheres are specifically english, which means i only considered english mountains for this. england's mountains are concentrated up north, usually away from extremely populated areas. this is a bonus because, well, the animuspheres are known to be recluses. they prefer to have their territory be far away from civilization/undisturbed from any outside interference. this is evidenced with chaldea, although of course there are a multitude of reasons why it's on a mountain in antarctica, but i digress.

i knew that because mountains make them feel closer to the heavens, it would have to be a tall mountain. so i consulted this list. sidenote, but the classification of UK mountains/hills is really fascinating. i suggest researching it yourself.

next, i looked at the correlation between observatories and mountains in england. there... isn't too much of a correlation, but i did discover that there's an observatory in grizedale. this is important to note because four of the tallest mountains in england just so happen to be in cumbria, and more specifically, the lake district, which is where grizedale is. i also recommend the further research material of diving into the wainwrights, because it's cool.

grizedale observatory was only recently established, as in, it wouldn't really fit in on the animusphere related timeline, but the fact stargazing is so relevant in the area, makes it obvious to me that this is a prime location.

it seems sort of like a bland pick, but after doing much research the only mountain calling out to me location-wise was indeed scafell pike - aka the tallest mountain in england. perhaps in a way, the animuspheres picking the tallest peak in all of england is fitting though, as it would perfectly fit their needs.

the surrounding area is sparsely inhabited (although hikers and tourists do show up in abundance!). close by is the seascale railway station, which brings to mind a nice travel route/transfer to the more inhabited parts of england, should the animuspheres need to travel (cough, clock tower lord business and such).

also, here is an image of scafell pike and grizedale, because i thought this was neat and it was also the deciding factor for me.
