“Are you taking poison?!” Merlin says in shock, edging forwards and looking at the capsules by standing on the tips of her feet. “That’s not good. Poison does more than make skin look pretty you know. It actually kills. It’s called poison for a reason.”

HEART was heavy; esme ( in the moment when she found the blonde ) thought she’d never see her again. seeing the LIGHT go out of her eyes. it was terrifying. bringing her back to her MOTHER, back to a time when ESME was probably normal. now she was a broken mess. exposed for the world to SEE. in order for MAYA to become stronger, esme needed to BE STRONG. a small smile rose on her lips, “i’m glad you’re feeling— better.” chewing on her lower lip softly. “new york—- yeah, what’s the deal with that?” wanting the conversation to be a little more NORMAL. and not about how maya was FEELING. not wanting to trigger something inside her mind. esme know the feeling ALL TOO WELL. 

Tightening her grip on the book as she tried not to rip the bottle out of the others hand and chuck it. “ I have very sensitive hearing. So I can not just ‘ignore’ it.”

“you don’t have to be rude about it.’’ maya spoke back, not wanting to cause a scene, she knew better that is wasn’t right, but it didn’t seem to bother her.

zig mindlessly wandered the streets of new york, circling a block a few times     which had become a habit ever since he’d arrived in the city. the dark, busy nights in new york made him feel less alone and that was exactly what he needed. it’d been months since his life had been flipped and he still hadn’t adjusted to it. he kept his gaze towards his feet and suddenly felt the gentle collision of him bumping into someone. “i’m so sorry, i wasn’t watching where i was going,” he quickly apologized before his eyes caught sight the blonde and he was immediately overwhelmed by the pain he’d been dealing with since he lost contact with maya. of course     his mind had to be playing games with him. there was no real way that maya was just inches from him. when he heard her soft voice though, he was snapped back into reality. “maya? is that..is that you?” he asked as he tried to take it all in. 

Since arriving, Anakin had taken to people watching, trying to figure out the unfamiliar planet. When she spoke, he looked around for a second until he realized she was talking to him. “Not really,” he answered with a shrug.

“no, or not really?’’ she questioned his take on his staring. maya was never in the mood to be stared at, and this particular time seemed worse than before. “there are plenty of other things to admire.’’ 

“ Someone is a bit touchy. And no. But if you could be so kind to not crinkle your bottle so much. Some of us are trying to read here.”

maya rolled her eyes. the other had no idea what she was going thru, or the thoughts that lingered in her mind.  closing the bottle, she couldn’t help but make a louder sound. “ignore it.’’ she simply stated.

“Uh, I’m looking for Amity Park, I think I may have gone the wrong way. You mind telling me if I’m near there?”

“amity park?’’ she spoke under her breath.  maya wasn’t a resident of new york, she was beyond it. tapping her fingers against the nearly empty bottle of water, she hummed. “i think you’re backwards, it’s several blocks away, i think.’’

“uh — no.”

sam shook his head slowly, concern written all over his face, “i just wanted to make sure you were alright, that’s all. nothing major.”

“—–maya?” stopping for a second, not wanting to meet the other in the eyes. chest tight as could be, thoughts running wild, and all the worries for maya were HITTING her hard. eyes finally caught the other’s gaze, “i— didn’t know you were here?” feeling a tiny pit in her stomach tighten, clenching her muscles. “are— you okay?” asking this as SOFTLY as possible.

         A TICKLING SENSATION    builds in her chest  ; one that she’s very well used to. frail fingers cup as she uses the back of her hand to cover her mouth as she coughs. once. then twice. then a third time.   then, in a moment that if you blink you’d miss it: brown orbs glance down at her hand, a subtle check to make sure it wasn’t blood. this time. 

 &&            just like that. clearing her throat. hands moving to push into the back of her pockets. A S M I L E   plastered on pierced lips. it’s time to move on with her life. (well, the life she had left.)           “ so, i’m in a country that elected that orange TRUMP dude as president? great. ”

it had been days, weeks since maya had landed here, unsure of the true purpose of why she had become here, her fear of ( being left here as she had become the burden ) maya couldn’t think that way, she wouldn’t.  she had received the help she needed, and she thanked everyone around her, as her upbeat self was nothing to come, but she only hoped it would near.

“Well, I ought to sing for you sometime then. I’m a God, our job is to inspire humanity. I figure I could do something for you. If not give you a pleasurable time.” She said with another face splitting grin towards the what looked like shy, girl. “Well then, never lose it. Tricky is always your friend.”

chica couldn’t remember if she had known about new york city or not– had she ever been there before ? heard the name of it ? she couldn’t recall, but she did like the sound of a huge city. it was easier to hide and blend in to such a city. “h-huge is good.”

maya remained quiet, timid for the moment.  she was taken off by the person in front of her. “i suppose, as long as your’e not prone to getting lost, which, unfortunately, i am.’’
