The Legend of Zelda Four Swords AU's

Green, Blue, Red, Vio and Shadow are not related nor the same person and their shadow. They're complete strangers to each other.

Vio is the smart, quiet kid, while Blue is more like a bad boy and a diva and also kind of a playboy but doesn't flirt a lot while also being a massive softie inside, Green is mostly a normal student for everyone else but very responsible and trustworthy which is why everyone always asks him for help, Shadow is the chaotic kid who pranks other students, and Red is the new kid who got transferred from another school, Zelda's the class representative and she is kind and responsible.

Vio and Blue are somehow best friends despite their different personalities. Blue bullies Red too. Everyone thinks Vio's aloof, however he's only shy. Blue is popular in the entire school as the bad boy and the girls like his bad boy personality. However, he can easily charm his way out of trouble. Whenever someone is scolding him, his entire fanclub - which is half of the school - defends him fiercly, and therefore Blue never gets scolded even with his bad behaviour. Some people think he's a bad influence, while half of the school agrees that he's awesome. Many girls have a crush and the boys admire him. Everyone knows his reputation.

Green is approachable and everyone in the school trusts him with things. Red is shy but kind and helps people, however many people treat him like a little kid or bully him. Blue gets protective when someone bullies Red unless it's himself. Shadow is a prankster to everyone and most people keep their distance from him. Shadow also possesses dark magic.

So, I have made this AU literally out of nowhere. The text is quite long, so I hope people who are interested read it instead of just swiping through, because I think this is actually a nice idea. And I'd love it when people could give me advice on this idea. I'm not finished with the AU yet, but you'll notice it by a few missing pieces in the text like a character not having something the others have, you'll probably see what I mean. It's called my "Four Swords Royalty AU".

So, here's the text:

Green is the eldest at 16, then Vio at 15, then Blue as the middle child at 14, then Shadow at 13, and Red is the youngest at 12. Green is brave, focused, and determinded. Vio is calm, collected and composed. Blue is fiery, hot-headed and easily provoked. Shadow is unpredictable, chaotic and playful. Red is gentle, innocent and friendly.

Green, however, always chooses his brothers over his royal responsibilities. He is fiercely protective of them and will firmly correct nobles who speak disrespectfully to Blue, Red, Vio, or Shadow.

When they were younger, Green wasn’t busy with royal duties at all. Instead, he was busy raising his brothers. While the king and queen focused on ruling and teaching Green the basics of right and wrong, Green became the one who guided the others. They all slept together in one enormous bed. At that time, Green was 7, Vio 6, Blue 5, Shadow 4, and Red 3.

Green read picture books with Vio, who couldn’t read yet. He soothed Blue whenever frustration overwhelmed him. He helped Shadow fix the trouble he accidentally caused. And he always knew how to make a crying Red smile again. He had a special way of hugging each of them that made them feel safe no matter what. He gave them goodnight kisses on the cheek or forehead and taught them simple things.

Back then, Vio showed more emotion, Blue wasn’t so easily provoked, Shadow tried hard to behave, and Red was endlessly affectionate.

But as Green grew older and began real crown‑prince training, he had less and less time for them. That change shaped each brother differently:

Vio became emotionally distant because he remembered the closeness most clearly.

Blue remembered a lot too, but he reacted by becoming more intense and reactive.

Shadow only remembers fragments of Green helping him, so he grew more chaotic.

Red remembers the warmth of Green’s presence, but not the details.

Green also inherited a chilling trait from his grandfather — a cold, quiet presence when he’s truly upset. His anger is silent and composed; when he straightens up, his eyes turn distant. It even strains him a little to hold himself that way. But in that state, not even the king or queen interrupt him. Neither do the townspeople, the nobles, or even his brothers.

Blue is also incredibly acrobatic. When Green and Vio became old enough to focus on their prince duties, Blue was caught in the middle. He had two older brothers setting an example, and he wanted to follow them — but also carve his own path. So he practiced acrobatics whenever Shadow and Red were asleep and Green and Vio were occupied.

Back then, Shadow couldn’t control his dark magic and often floated around the room. Red was wilder, stealing items Green and Vio needed for their lessons just to get attention. With the older two busy, Blue ended up caring for both sides of the family. He returned the stolen items in time, prepared himself mentally for becoming a prince, kept Shadow from drifting away, and gave Red the love he craved. Meanwhile, Vio also draws pictures sometimes because it's calming.

Green is great at using a sword, Vio is skilled at drawing, Blue is great at acrobatics, Shadow is creative, and Red bakes otherworldy-tasty cookies and cakes (that everyone loves and even Vio cracks a smile when he eats them). Red can also snap tho. He snaps only when someone threatens people he loves, and his kindess causes him to love everyone who doesn't hurt his friends. And when he snaps, he starts saying curse words, insults the people who hurt his people and starts raising his voice - but no one expects that he can do all this, yet alone that he can snap.

Also important is, that whenever Blue gets too aggressive, hurt or even cries, the person who goes to him is Vio. Vio spend a lot of time with Blue as kids and always made Blue feel protected and like he could rely on someone else than always bothering Green. Despite Vio being emotionally withdrawn, he secretly shows a lot of emotion towards Blue. The most times he opens up, are usually to Blue. And Blue also almost never opens up, but always let's Vio in. Everytime Blue gets sad or angry, he doesn't hope that Vio will come. He knows that Vio will be the one person who will come and comfort him. Regardless of rules.

Vio has a special bond with Selene, who comes from the Lunar Family, is a noble and also Vio's fiancee. She's quiet, composed, very kind, and has a great sense of humor. Selene has an older brother named Vel, who is a big fan of Vio because he admires how calm and intelligent Vio always is. However, Vio doesn't enjoy Vel constantly praising him. Selene's younger sister Luna is curious and energetic, though she tries her best to behave during important occasions. Vel is 17 years old, Selene is 14 years old, and Luna is 8 years old.

Blue also has a close companion named Princess Snowflake who's his fiancee. She comes from an Ice Kingdom and has an older brother named Frost, who dislikes many nobles and royals because he believes they can be arrogant and self-important. However, he respects Green's talents, Vio's artistic abilities, Blue's agility, Shadow's imagination, and Red's baking skills. Snowflake is shy and kind, though she often needs assistance with everyday matters, which sometimes gives Blue extra responsibilities. She also has a younger brother named Ice, who is curious about everything and still has much to learn. Snowflake is 12 years old, Frost is 17 years old, and Ice is 5 years old.

The Kingdom of Hyrule is divided into two regions. One region is governed by the family of the Links, while the other is governed by Princess Zelda's family.

One day, Zelda and her parents visited the Links. Over time, Zelda and Green became very fond of one another. Both are aware of their feelings, but because of their duties and concerns about how their families might react, they have kept those feelings private. Amber is a noble from another kingdom and Red's fiancee. She's determined, confident, and persistent whenever she sets her mind to something. She has a fiery personality and excels at many activities. Although she can be friendly, she usually reserves that side of herself for people she trusts. Amber is 12 years old. She has an older sister named Blaze, who is respected by many and known for being disciplined. Beneath that strict exterior, however, she is very caring. Amber also has a younger brother named Spark. He is energetic and mischievous. Spark is 7 years old.
