“Violet-san?” Nova blinked, surprised to see her running up to him with a first aid kit in hand. He was in the middle of chasing down a thief who had stolen his briefcase. As he was running and yelling at him to stop and that he’ll be arrested, the wet streets from the rain made him trip and fall, wetting his clothes and scraping his knee in the process.

There had been a reason for their enrollment to Yasogami High. One was just a simple way of getting closer to the self-proclaimed Investigation Team, or as close as she would get without assimilating herself with the group. This method had proven to be generally unhelpful. The things she’d heard in the hallways and shoe lockers were nothing but useless idle gossip.

Then came Port Island, which had been a disaster. By sharing a bit about herself, she’d hoped that they would give her a scrap of information. Something following the saying: ‘A drunk man’s words are sober thoughts’. What she’d gotten was complete garbage. For the rest of the night, Seiji couldn’t get a word out of her. Now, all she could do was to take matters into her own hands, too far perhaps.

Speaking of that, the uneasiness her brother feels is noted. While normally quiet, she’d been too quiet during the day. It must have concerned him. She finally looks up, directly into his eyes. “Is something wrong?” she asks, knowing that something is.

“Just confirming my suspicions, nothing more.” She’d rather avoid dragging him into this. One twin dying is enough, and if the team don’t… well, someone has to be there to finish the case. There’s no one she’d trust more than Seiji. The less time they spend on this, the better. “Is there anywhere you want to go? Junes? Souzai Daigaku?”

That look in his sister’s eyes caused his to narrow, suspicious of her wording as well. “Confirming? That’s just you, however... don’t you think it would be wise to discuss it with me as well?” His expression was serious, not liking this one bit. He hated being the one left out of most of the cases she’s handled. He’s being treated like a nobody by some adults in the Police Department except Dojima and Adachi sometimes.

Knowing Naoto, she most likely would say no and brush him off. Or perhaps he’s overthinking it again. Shaking his head, he focused on her words, though not appreciating the fact that she changed the subject so quickly.

Pulling her phone out, she checked the list of people she had talked to. Normally this would be Inoue’s jurisdiction, however, he insisted that Rise do it herself for some reason. She didn’t understand his reasoning, but she decided to respect his wishes regardless. Making a note next to Naoto’s name she placed her phone down and picked up her drink.

“Then that confirms everyone but someone named Teddie.”

She didn’t know who they were, that name wasn’t ringing any bells. Not to mention that there was no last name attached to it. This was the list that Inoue gave her and it wasn’t like him to leave out such an important detail. Rise made a mental note to ask him about it after this meeting. 

“It’s not a problem, besides it’s a generic fan mail box. So no one has to be concerned about crazy fans stalking your house.”

Thinking about the upcoming concert Rise was looking forward to it. Because there would be the others with her, it’s going to be a relatively easy one for her to do. It also only lasts three days and they stay in the same location. Compared to going on tour where it can last up to a few months. It’s a legitimate excuse to take it easy until the concerts are done since she isn’t too worried about her own performance.

“It’s up to you. Coach mentioned that he wants to step up everyone’s routine this time around and he wants to try and fit in some more paired moves and flips. So it probably would not be a bad idea.”

Naoto paused her searching at Rise’s response. “Teddie? That name does sound familiar. Isn’t he Hanamura-san’s adoptive brother? As far as I recall, we met Hanamura-san at your last concert, and he told us about him. He was occupied with something else.” Come to think of it, the fact that all seven of them had special VIP tickets for said concert was far from a coincidence, surely. Coincidences like that simply didn’t exist. She couldn’t recall meeting Kujikawa in person before either. She frowned for a moment, deep in thought, and let out a sigh of slight annoyance.

In the end, she shouldn’t think about it so hard now and continued her part of checking the letters sent to her. It’s crazy to think how popular she became due to a concert and not her skills. Her former skills. “That’d be greatly appreciated. You’ve been in this business longer than me and I am amazed at your dedication and perseverance. It must be incredibly difficult dealing with different types of fanatics on a daily basis.” Despite her concerning comment, Naoto shot her a supportive smile, saying that she’ll be one call away if trouble arises.
