We’ve successfully completed a significant structural and renovation project on this remarkable listed commercial building, and it was no easy task.

After receiving a thorough technical survey and report with observations and recommendations, our first step involved fully replacing both sides of the severely decayed wooden wall plates, which was essential for upholding the building's structural integrity.

With oversight from building control and guidance from structural engineers, we reinforced four of the main supporting beams with RSJ steel channels, securely bolted to the existing beams and rafters. This enhancement will support this 200-year-old structure for decades to come.

After the heavy lifting was done, we reinstated bespoke moulded plaster of Paris cornices to match the original architectural features. Finally, we completed the project with a comprehensive painting and renovation of all walls and ceilings, utilising silicate emulsion-based paints. This choice not only revitalised the building's appearance but also ensured that the walls maintain their breathability, an essential factor in preserving the structure for years ahead.

Revitalising history with a modern twist! 🧱 This beautiful Tudor chimney, constructed with handmade bricks using traditional lime mortar that features a fully functional flue. It not only adds charm and tons of character to this property but also serves its purpose, seamlessly blending the elegance of the past with modern living. It’s a shame these stunning stacks are not more common but it’s a pleasure bringing a piece of history back to life 🙌.

On our commercial project , we have been focused on restoring the integrity of a compromised structure due to water ingress over many years through several key works.

First, we identified and removed deteriorated main supporting wooden beams, replacing them with robust RSJs (Rolled Steel Joists). This upgrade provides superior strength and longevity, ensuring the structure can support loads effectively now and in the future.

Next, we installed new concrete wall plates after removing the old, rotten ones. This enhancement improves the overall stability of the framework, creating a solid foundation for the beam supports while increasing resistance to moisture and decay.

To ensure a seamless finish and facilitate the installation of plasterboard, the RSJs were boxed in. This not only conceals the steel elements for aesthetic purposes but also provides a sturdy base for the plasterboard application, ensuring a smooth and professional appearance.

Watch as we transformed this outdoor area! In our latest project, we lifted and relaid an inadequately constructed Indian sandstone patio that had raised and sunken areas due to deterioration and subsequent poor craftsmanship. We installed a new compacted mot sub-base, re-laid the Indian sandstone paving, and used flow point grout to ensure the patio's structural integrity for decades to come. We fixed an aco drainage channel around the house with the required paving gradients to prevent water pooling. Addtionally we constructed brick piers and mounted a decorative new wrought iron gate for garden access. Check out this incredible transformation in our video!
