Jefferson was walking with his newly acquired friend down a dirt road in the enchanted forest. Sometimes working with the Dark One had its perks, like meeting pretty women for example.

He hadn’t known Belle for long, but he already knew they’d get along. She had such a kind soul, it was hard not to enjoy her company.

He caught her running an errand for Rumplestiltskin, and decided to join her. They were soon lost in conversation.

As they walked, Jefferson took one false step and the dirt slid out from under his foot, sending him off the side of the path. Instinctively, he grabbed the woman by the sleeve in an attempt to keep himself but inevitably pulled her down with him into a thorn bush.

After a moment of severe pain he pulled himself off the thorns and offered her a hand. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to drag you down with me.” he joked lightly, pain filling his body.

Running errands for Rumplestiltskin was something Belle didn't particularly want to do, but she had no choice. Also because of her kind, helping nature, there wasn't exactly an option for her to decline anyones help, no matter whom that person was. The two had only known eachother for a very short while, in fact they'd bumped into one another only a few months ago. Being with Jefferson lifted Belle's spirits no matter what state she was in. As they were walking through the Enchanted Forest, the tug on her arm shocked the female, it caused her to trip over a branch that had collapsed on the floor, so whether or not she had been pulled along with the man, she most probably would have fallen into the bush, also. Holding out her hands to help lighten the impact to the floor was when Belle felt a sudden stinging sensation across her palms, and a rush of warmth. She intook a short, sharp breath and quickly manoeuvred backwards, flipping her hands over to reveal the crimson blood that began to trickle down her dainty hands. "A thorn bush.." Glancing up at the bush, then to Jefferson, a little smile twitched to her delicate, rosy lips. "That's alright Jefferson, it was only an act of panic."

I can take care of myself!” He gave a shrug of his shoulders, folding his arms across his chest. “Woman like you? Well… The odds are against you…”

A cock of the head inclined that the woman meant no harm, her delicate, rosy lips parted to speak and her dainty hand had pressed gently to her chest in an expression of apology. "Sir, I meant no harm in my words.. I just thought that, this is an awfully odd looking place, and you were all alone. I was wondering that perhaps you'd enjoy some company?" Her words were soft and inviting, "My name is Belle. What is yours?"

Instead of cowering in fear, probably the action that the man thought she would do, Belle merely cocked her head to one side with the expression of pure curiosity still painted across her delicate features. “A person is bad only if they wish to be. And you, sir, seem like no bad man or.. wolf, at all.” The female’s words came as a light whisper. She was not afraid.
