the thing about the oldest house in control is that it lets you take pieces of its walls to fight the threat inside. the house trusts you to root out the infection so much it allows you passage through control points, which of course in a nondiegetic sense is fast travel, but within the game you are the only person who is able to do it. the oldest house is alive and it loves you

I think my favourite minor character in Control is Langston.

On the one hand, this guy has peak civil service energy. All self-deprecating comments about how he worked his way up due to seniority when he is actually very dedicated to his extremely niche job that nobody outside his department cares about.

On the other hand, this guy is essentially the High Priest of a temple to dozens of eldritch demigods. And he is apparently good enough at placating them to have survived ten years in the death zone with only some minor facial scarring.

It’s a weirdly hilarious combination? You keep living your best life buddy.

Fun fact, the scar on Langston's lip is actually a cleft, same as his voice actor Derek Hagen (since many of the characters were modeled after their VAs).
