Anyways.

Erratum is a very serious guy in canon Fgod. He’s very mellowed out and indifferent to the happens of the multiverse. Mostly because he’s lived for so long doing the same thing over and over again expecting something different.

The definition of insanity.

So to suddenly lose it after being jumped by a good majority of the multiverse, it’s like a tipping point. Compartmentalizing everything that’s happened as “part of life” is likely how he cooped throughout these years. Endless beatings and points where he was alone and solely dealing with the multiverse on his shoulders.

When Error jumps, he’s given new choices, but living how he’s lived so far, closing off his emotions or staying indifferent towards everything has largely helped him. So he continues to be very unemotional.

In canon fgod (I think it’s been a minute since I read the original harrish06 fic) his positive emotions are taken away, or possibly closed off, leading him to be closed off and look in a “glass half empty” kind of mentality.

With Null and Void he feels responsible for them solely because they’ve become attached to him. He takes taking care of them as seriously as he did destroying despite his lack of knowledge on regular mortal and parenting stuff.

He seemed pretty standoffish (at least to me) because his emotions were closed off and he didn’t need to care about anything. Now, he has kids and has to care for such small things that need 24-7 care.

He parents in his own way. Based off his past. So while originally, he wanted to give Null and Void to Toriel or someone who he thought would fit the norm of “how parents should act like” he doesn’t bring into account that everyone has different parenting styles and that the kids have already grown accustomed to his monotonous attitude. Their positive and innocent outlook on life allows for them to see this as normal, compared to what we know and consider as “good parenting”.

TDLR; Error’s life as a forced destroyer cause his overall indifference to many things after being accustomed to it after years of it happening. This is why he’s so monotone towards Null and Void.

Ofc he loves his kids but that’s for future me to decompress and analyze
