I am sure it will be an underrated little moment by lots, but Kaminari using this nickname for Jirou is one of the sweetest things ever:

Not only it is a reminder (and almost an answer) of the moment in chapter 263, where she called him "Chargebolt".

But it is a little callback to the exchange in chapter 209 too. For Denki, Jirou is a heroine, a true hero he looks up to and he admires a whole lot.

At the same time, though, he keeps "Jirou" in the first part, because she is a heroine for him not only when she is "Earphone Jack" but also when she is Kyoka Jirou, aka the most important person to him.

This truly is one of the most beautiful nickname he could have ever used.

Is this too cheesy? Probably.

Am I looking too much into this? Perhaps.

But I am not even sorry, they are just too precious.

Well, now that Kamijiro’s in the spotlight, bout time I did a top moments for them! Sure I’ve left out something, so let me know.

#10. Roped together

Chapter 123-4/Episode 63 “Unrivaled”

What Happens: During the fight against Mirio, Kaminari and Jirou get tied up (presumably by Mirio) with her headphone jacks. In the aftermath, they commiserate on the experience.

Why I Like it: It’s brief and funny and probably silly, but on top of being one of their rare amicable conversations, it’s the two getting tangled up together, even if it is in the middle of a fight sequence, in an adorable way that probably didn’t even need to happen like that.

#9.   ‘Who was embarassed before?”

Chapter 174 “Golden Tips Imperial”

What Happens: Right before the school festival begins, Jirou is feeling insecure about the future, and Kaminari reminds her of her earlier big deal she made about her hobby; this teasing helps calm her down.

Why I Like it: A lot of Kaminari and jiro’s scenes play out a bit like ‘Belligerent Sexual tension’, namely a lot of teasing and insults that are probably meant affectionately, since they seem to get along in general. This is one instance of Kami teasing Jiro rather playfully, and making her feel better.

#8. ‘Jamming-yay’

Chapter 45/Episode 26/“Time to Pick some Names”

What Happens: During the name-picking section, Jiro tells Kaminari teasingly that he should choose ‘jamming-yay’ He like sit at first until she explains.

Why I Like it: Jirou teases Kaminari a lot, though this is a scene where he actually (initially) takes this as her supporting him. I take this to mean that they have pleasant conversations in other scenes and a friendship going on, and that she’s only teasing him here for the fun of it. Also I like the parallels with Deku and Kacchan, because who am I kidding, I’m a sucker for that.

#7. Funny face mode is coming loose/laughing

Chapters 98 & 198/Episode 51 “Moving into Dorms” & “Know where you Stand when it Counts”

What Happens: Basically every scene where Jirou cracks up over Kaminari’s inability to keep from losing his head when he over-uses his power. 2 specific instances frame this as a moment of happiness for her.

Why I Like it: Jiro in general is a bit of a serious character, but here she displays that Kaminari often makes her smile and amuses her with his goofy funny-face mode. It’s just an interesting sign of her fixating on him in particular.

#6. “You were like a real heroine out there”

Chapter 209 “Match 5 Start”

What Happens: After her match on Team Bakugou, Kaminari comes up and congratulates Jirou on how much she looked like a real heroine out there. Her response is ‘duh, I’m a hero’

Why I Like it: Kaminari is really supportive of Jirou in general, often telling her that he thinks she’s doing well and showing interest in her comings and goings, complimenting her on her skills and such. Before that was just on her music skills, but here it’s for her hero work.

#5. Teamwork & Bantering (USJ & Battle Trial)

Chapter 11 & 17/Episode 8 & 11 “Game Over”

What Happens: Kaminari and Jirou get teamed up during the Battle Trial Arc, and later on during USJ. They banter and bicker during the latter about using his powers.

Why I Like it: Kami and Jiro get teamed up early on in the series and their dynamic is set early: bickering and snarking back and forth, with the ability to accomplish something if they set their minds to it. Momo even has to chastise them for loosing focus, cause they’re too busy arguing.

#4. “Kaminari! Kid got careless”

Chapter 20/Episode 13 “In Each of Our Hearts”

What Happens: Kaminari gets captured by a villain and Jirou tries to save him using her headphone jack; the villain sees through her plan and makes her and Momo choose between saving Kaminari or themselves.

Why I Like it: Jirou does care about Kaminari, even though she gives him a hard time. She takes a big risk to save him here, and even specifically mentions that she’s always envied quirks like his and the electro villain’s.

#3. “Like a pro’s room”

Chapter 99/Episode 51 “Moving into Dorms”

What Happens: Kaminari reacts with delight to Jirou’s room; she gets super self-conscious and defensive when he starts saying it’s ‘not girly at all’ and zaps him and Aoyama.

Why I Like it:Kaminari shows particular interest in Jirou’s room and she gets rather embarrassed, as if she’s interested in impressing him and nervous about sharing her hobbies. This has a payoff later on down the line.

#2. “Speaking of hobbies”

Chapter 169/Episode 81 “School Festival”

What Happens: While Mina is dancing, Kaminari comes up to Jiro and starts talking about her music hobby; she freaks out and makes him shut up, blushing and acting self-conscious.

Why I Like it: Kaminari shows a lot of interest in Jirou here, a desire to support her hobbies and a liking for what she does. She also gets very self-conscious around him here, to the point of blushing, and he seems to feel bad that he offended her.

What Happens: Remembering Jirou’s earlier self-consciousness, Kaminari comes up to her and tells her that her hobby with instruments is actually cool.
