My take on some loopshooters!

Here's our favourite war criminal making the only possible use of *the worst equipment in the game*, as is appropriate; Brigid being a cinnamon roll and an effective wielder of Throwing Knife ("not a boomerang!"); and Naran getting on with her not-war-criminal-just-normal-criminal business whether you try to stop her or not.

At long last, I can reveal my full proxy Leizi Commander deck!

For the past few months, I've been working on a project to put together a fully-reflavoured deck using existing Magic cards inspired by one of the coolest units released last year, Leizi the Thunderbringer, who happens to be a Kylin (aka Kirin) standing in for an utterly perfect preexisting Magic card in Hinata, Dawn-Crowned. The deck is specific to the Yan region and I thought it'd be fun to include all the known Sui, so ended out with a big spells blink strategy featuring, uh, 8 indestructible Gods.

#for once not technically “Custom MTG”#mtg proxy #arknights #Leizi the Thunderbringer #If you wondered at all where I'd gotten to while so much awesome stuff happened in the game: busy overthinking this and neglecting my AIC #Turns out being as strict as I am about creature types really restricts the powerlevel in a nice way. No Humans to be seen here #the intention was for this to feel like it could have been a precon so I kept renaming cards to a minimum and set a budget of roughly £200 #Leaving reminder text off things was too tempting though so we get the wonderfully clean Change of Plans (compare to the original!)#I printed the whole deck out and sleeved it yesterday! I've goldfished it a couple of times but haven't played it IRL yet #if it's vastly over/underpowered it won't be expensive to change things which is lovely #25p per page of 9 cards feels like a steal (and possibly technically is but whatever)

Momir, Cytoplast Synthesis by @flyerbeast

This card does simic in a different way than usual- it’s never had scientists or changelings- but also in a way that doesn’t feel at all out of place. Really great reflavoring there. This card also seems really fun though it definitely wants a sorcery speed restriction on that activated ability. I’m unsure about the balance- it *looks* strong, definitely, but needing to actually pay the creature’s cost may be good enough.

The Hand in the Dark // Ereandor, Who Walks the Line by @xenobladexfan

The “can’t be blocked” part feels a little weird for a card you give to your opponent cause it could really screw you over, but for multiplayer I can see why it’s necessary. This thing would definitely die too quickly otherwise. This is a really flavorful design though, and seems like it would play quite well. “Double Agent that transforms into a big threat after a time” is a great design.

This design rocks, I’m a huge fan. It’s a very fun twist on red’s style of draw. And I like the change from a character who’s a nymph as a seemingly largely-interchangeable kind of person to a more traditional nature spirit, that’s exactly the kind of thing I’m looking to see. Is Ly’lac a ttrpg character of yours?

I hoped making tapped Shapeshifters would make a sorcery-speed restriction unnecessary, but yeah you're right, the threat of mid-combat activation here is especially scary.

Excercise is good for you it seems!#Miss Christine is certainly a 'Modern Horizons'-sort of card with her not-entirely-intuitive interaction with the legend rule #i.e. that it applies as usual #Originally she had the 'Morbid' ability word then I saw the light #Phantom and Shalem I may have pushed too far into the extremely tricksy mechanical direction but I can't help myself #This is not based on Tragodia because I don't know what he does yet. The only way I will is if I get him by accident while pulling Tippis #forgive me if I've missed some important creature types here haha #I have such a backlog of cards I designed (including a Limbus Company one!) that need posting before they're outdated (oops)

Eblana makes killing people easy and rewards you for burning them with all those weird damage dealers. If you haven't burned anyone though, she'll basically double the amount of dying that happens (by making 0/0s), which is very on-brand

#Reed was fairly straightforward but I reworked Eblana a bunch of times - ended out settling on having her see Reed's damage trigger #they synergise but they're difficult to get together in one deck!#picking out the keywords they get was fun too #arknights #custom mtg #reed the flame shadow #necrass #eblana #Reed's damage prevention is both a benefit (can't boardwipe yourself) and a downside (can't gain all that extra life) which is cool #Firesong and Sunspeaker live on!#SPOILERS FOR EA EVENT: I toyed with having “Necrass” be a Zombie but it made the typeline ugly so this is her prior to that event #instead of course you can kill her with Famine or Evincar's Justice or something and have her make a Zombie out of herself #Neat how Reed could protect her from that but will rarely get the chance #These two have been in the works since before Necrass was announced but I had to finally get her to see how she mechanically works #what the heck is a terrawiki

I really like your blog, and it’s inspired me to try and design some of my own Arknights magic cards! They may not be very polished, but it’s a lot of fun
