Custom Card Highlight: Deem Sinful
This card was made by Bogander_Guy, for the set Bogander, Deal With the Devil, a set inspired by southern US folklore filled to the brim with gators, souls, guns, and hillbilly frog goblins.
This set brings a new mechanic, praying for a card. The mechanic itself feels very flavourful already, you pray to get a specific type of card, and sometimes your prayers are answered. But then, this card gives it even more context. It counters a spell and then prays, as if regretting what must be done.
Making new counterspells that use the set's mechanic is almost necessary in every new set, both official and custom, and making them make sense is a very important part of the process.

The big man of the Dragonborn DLC himself, Miraak!
He was tough to pin down an exact card for in the Skyrim Magic: the Gathering proxy set, with a few different grixis cards in the running. Ultimately, Xander the Collector felt the most on-brand, with his siphoning of the dragonborn's souls and what-not.
